  1. the birds are more simple to run.........simple in the sense you have to hit many less buttons to scroll menu to menu, unless they changed something.
  2. does anyone think I could get by with a 24v system? Just noticed that the terrova doesnt come in a 36v 45in shaft........
  3. being a 3 power rod you can do a bunch ............tubes, 1./4 oz trigs, rage rig, shakey head.... you name it my 733c champ is my spinnerbait rod my 743dx c is my rage craw rod, tubes , anything 1/4 oz + plastic now my 742dx sf is a fantastic drop shot and the perfect shakeyhead rod........ but since you have to SF instead of cast I would say you could shakey and drop shot the your rod as well. enjoy your new rod.
  4. Jeff--- explain more on how to run it in shallow water vs the "pull the rope half up and go" example........ at horseshoe fishing the cypress trees or back in the willows, you get hung up and half to go in a get it??? normally ya would just pull the rope a litle if needed , but as I understand it you cant do that with the terrova.
  5. jeff, I could not find a listed weight for the everstart , which is why I did not included it ....the other specs look great actually! Everstart Maxx 29 Deep Cycle 29 Flooded Cell 675 125 205 NA $75

I am looking at maybe upgrading my trolling motor this winter to a 36v system, I have 24v now. I will also next year start fishing a HP limit lake and will have to be TM only, I will be traveling 2 miles to the best fishing spots on that lake, and will be running on high for about 30-45 minutes to get there. I want to make sure I got enough battery to get there, fish all day, and get back. Weight is a fairly big concern in the long run, as my boat is weight sensitive so I don’t want to pick up anymore weight than I have to….I have 170# of batteries now(2tm and 1 cranking) and when I go 36v I will be moving my cranking battery up front to a rod locker to help balance out the addition battery weight. Also with these choices listed does group size matter? Or should you judge a battery by its specs?
  7. no, not if rigged right. I use normal 4/0 owner ewg plus.
  8. I think it is 4 months out from hitting store shelves........may it was 4 weeks......IDK it was one of em.
  9. mark rose had a picture on his facebook page.....big for sure!
  10. Cool.......makes me feel better and opens up the choices if I decide I really want a different boat........I have heard guys say they wont take their glass boat to any lake that is "stumpy" or any chance of wood in channel or any of that. yall have made me feel much more comfortable with the idea.
  11. ha .......I didnt even think of sand grit.......I was more worried about a tree limb dragging down the side of the boat.......
  12. I been thinking about making the jump to a fiberglass boat. what is the daily weekly monthly yearly care needed for the fiberglass hull?? also how easy or hard is it to scratch? ding up? knock a chunk of gelcoat out? knock a hole on the hull? crazy questions but things I fear. thanks
  13. I really like my 10# tatsu that I have on my spinning set up. when using KVD LL, no coils what so ever, and can feel "ticks" on a shakey head.........all you ever would want I guess.
  14. nice, what yall catching them on.........I swear one day I will start going to Pickwick.
  15. I would like 1/2 oz but I am sure many will say different. I fished with some friends last year in some current. It was the first time I ever had fished in current, it was a feeder "creek" off a river.......well I kept setting the hook into air ......and my buddies were laughing and asked why I kept setting the hook, and I said MY LINE IS MOVING, especially on the fall lmao. I then understood why they always used 1/2oz jigs.
  16. its SO MUCH cheaper in the gallon then just pour it in a spray bottle and you good to go. I got really tired of $8 for 4 oz.
  17. just get a gallon from tackle warehouse
  18. you know the reel monkey is screaming at me cause you said this dont you?????
  19. what do you consider light baits??
  20. The lews can be had for well under 2bills. I love all the TPs I have
  21. thats a perfect weight range IMO........today I pitched a 1/4 ounce weight with a rage craw. I LOVE my dx744. I cant help on grip cause I have full cork and a lewsTP on mine.
  22. I enjoy the fact that the 'birds have an easier interface, much less button pushing to get from screen to screen, menu to menu
  23. also, IDK how much equpment really plays. Reason I say that I think your 66 med will be fine. Are you going to be pitching 1/2 jigs with a big trailer into a tree top with that set up? NO you wont, but you can pitch 1/4 oz with worms, tubes, lots of stuff to stumps, shoreline trees, docks ect. I "pitch" a spinnerbait alot of times myself on a 3 power rod(dobyns 733) and I know lots of guys who use a 66 med for spinnerbaits. I have also "hauled" 4 pounders off a cypress tree base with that same rod. learn the WAY to do it and when you have extra cash pick up a rod that will allow you to pitch heavier baits to heavier cover. just my opinion.
  24. when I frst started pitching I was lucky because I hold my rod in my left hand and crank with right hand.so I dont have to switch hands......Denny Brauer says he owes much success to being left handed, lol. by your vid I would say this: 1. practice to a bucket at different distances 2.you seem to be "Throwing" it some......dont do that, make a nice fluid motion and prehaps raise your "rod wrist" higher 3. loosen all cast controls as mush as possible 4. let the bait fall out of your hand as much as possible. IE let the rod drag the bait out of your hand, I actaully held the bait in an open palm when I first learned. 5. understand you are practicing on land and it seems real high in the air...........when you are on a boat it wont, or at least you will be able to correct "release point" quickly on the water. I always practice standing on about a 1 foot tall stool or similar. 6. practice everyday for 2 weeks and it will be second nature in no time........I always used to do this everytime I had an extra 5 mintues I would make 10-20 pitches. and I need to start back , LOL 7. you wll be amazed when you het the hang of it how you can use your rod tip to "steer" the bait mid air.....LOTS OF PRACTICE needed here. GOOD LUCK, you will be slipping jigs in the water without ripple in no time flat.
