actually I guess skeeter makes it , there has been some discussion about it on other forums.... PM me for where I odered it ........it is 20 inches long, and slides forward 7 inches.....the way I figure it, you can mount it totally inside the boat and the slide will provide the necessary clearance while deployed

Jeff you talk about a PITA your install is . I got a challenge myself going on, LOL......since the Terrvoa sticks out so far and I didn't like that , or where I was going to have to put it. I waiting for a sliding mount to come in, then should be good.

doug's video was made on his 2nd trip on the water with the terrova, I think he states that......as with all new products there is a learning curve, he states that too I believe. so in context of only using the terrova 1 other time, the video more than shows it is doable, IMO. 00Mod, how did you mount your SI on your terrova....I am mounting mine this week. I guess I will just do the "down the notch" install, unless other anyone has a better idea.

I go through phases.......but at the current I have just about everything autodrafted out of the bank account. I use my BPS card a lot for the points and pay it off every 2 weeks. Now if I been going to the track or playing cards on a regular basis, I might have 3-4k on me at anygiven time, but in and out of the Track with that kind of paper in the pocket, tend to make me a tad nervous. plus its hard to shop online with cash...

I love Bill Dance, I met him a few times and always eager to talk fishing, and answer questions about local water. I hold a fairly high opinion of him. Some of my friends, don't, as they have had some run-ins with him. Ol' Bill was a pretty durn good tournament fishermen too, story goes as stories go, and ol' Bill got banned when he was caught cheating. Stories go as stories go...and I have heard it a few times.I am sure I could find someone here in town that knows the "real" story but I never really cared to dig.

thanks Wayne I want the Lakemaster but they don't have the HD on the lakes I want yet.....and the Lakemaster "normal" really aint that good IMO on some lakes. I guess I will have to spend more and get the Navionics platinum for the time being, the 3d bottom imagining look fun...

with that budget (2014) you can almost get a used tracker PT165.....maybe even a pt 175.......worth thinking about.

the issue with johnboats is weight more than stability in most cases. once you build the deck, add TM, battery, yadda yadda you will be sitting LOW. as with anything else get the most you can afford, even if you gotta wait for it.

got my rod back earlier in the week, and the guide Mike put on, well the wrap he did looks better than factory.......and it was on a Dobyns DX which looks great from the factory. Mike does GOOD work, no doubt.

smoothness and ease of winding is the same no matter the ratio of the gears. only time you have to "worry" about such things is when cranking on 20+ foot crankbaits.

inches per turn matter more than ratio my lews are 31" for 7.1:1 and 28" for 6.4:1...... while my shimanos are 27-28" for 7.1:1. that being said most of my reels are labeled 7.1, and mostly the lews 7.1.
