  1. I am better when the other guy is better. I enjoy fishing with others to talk about the lake, pattern, life...... but sometimes I like to lone it too, which I do often.
  2. that is the same size as 10# flouro so nothing is gained sizewise........ plus you have to worry about the braid digging, and god help you if you ever lash that small of braid . 30# is boarder line
  3. I have no idea........ I honestly have not done this to my 6xds YET....... Randy Haynes which is a deep cranking fool here on the TN River, has stated that's how he gets 22 foot out of his 6xds...... so I am looking forward to trying it too.
  4. 10#........bait must run perfectly straight...... upgrade hooks/split rings , which are heavier..... then you'll hit 20 foot.
  5. IPT is all that matters, not gear ratio. for the baits you listed, mid 20s is the happy medium IMO
  6. and yes you are hard pressed to beat the Invisx
  7. the yo zuri is as strong because it is the same diameter.
  8. I just looked at several leading lines....... and you are not going to beat Tatsu or Invisx in line diameter which both are listed at .010. not going to get anysmaller than that without going braid.... and even with braid you are going to be so small you will be fighting "dig in" constantly. and before the yo-zuri crowd comes in.....6# yo-zuri is listed at .010. so there is no real benifit there either.
  9. more and more with the move offshore in today's fishing I too am surprised we dont see more terrovas out there.... especially with the known offshore guys. I simply couldnt fish without my terrova, retying, culling, holding the boat on a point, sweet spot, ect.
  10. the line is not the issue. what rod, what reel, what bait (size/weight)? I cast all day with minimum thumb, with little issue. now once line gets some age on it, then you have to be mindful.....as well as in the wind. once you lashed it good with the braid, I hope you have a good pair of sissors handy.

  12. I don't follow??? if you want something to throw UP TO 1/2 and 1/2 if you have too in a perfect world that is the 744.....if you are working heavy cover then stick with the 745. on the cranking, the 764RMcb is a great all around cranker....dt6 on up, I even threw a 6xd on mine this weekend in a pinch. Last time we spoke you seemed like you were not fishing heavy cover, in fact I thought you wound up going with 13 or duckett.......... I love helping folks but this is starting to puzzle me. Not sure you have dedicated setups, and positively sure on what you want yet.
  13. what holes are you wanting to fill? what baits? the 745dx is going to do all you 1/2oz and above work (jig, worm ect) I actually wish I had a second one of these.... I am trying to hold out for the 785! (next year hopefully) if you wanted a pure 1/2oz jig rod get a 784ml, best there is, plus flutter spoons. if you are wanting to get two 744 rods then there might not be a reason to get a 743. very rarely is the 743 and 744 on the deck at the same time, its normally one or the other. but that's how I fish. then there is always the 742dx.... my personal favorite. you aren't giving us a lot to go on, you are just naming rods, which is fine but if you want real world recommendations give us some baits, weights, ect. of what you are using on your current rods and what you want to throw on your new rods. we are pretty good at picking rods here on the boards, we just need a little to go on.
  14. well, just buy one of everything and call it good. what do you plan on using them for?
  15. two cowboys and a Jew walk into a bar....... neveremind, yall probably already heard that one.
  16. Rhino nailed it. I tow my z9 with a Ram 1500 pulls it just fine...... but towing the gas milage sucks. I get 20 in the hwy not towing...and 10 while towing. an added tip.... I once had a tranny slipping in a pathfinder. I put Lucas transmission treatment in (2 quarts since it was very noticable) then drove that pathfinder for another 50k miles without issue. Might be a shot in the dark, but worth a try.
  17. that must have been one heck of a tussle on a drop shop and 8# line !!!!!!
  18. I got me a package coming from Fetus, MO........ oh happy day!!!! Let summertime 1oz football jigging commence!!!!
  19. always a good thing........ like when we run a mower in the pond at the golf course (happens at least once a year) I always tell guys.... if you bail off, make sure you turn the key off before you do!
  20. that'll make some people do work right there! slobber knocker right there wayne!
  21. no you a ole fish eyed fool is what you are! lmao and I agree
  22. My stance is this when they all start direct tying with 65# braid at table rock, then I'll take notice.
