  1. DO TELL WHERE!!! what # are you using? I thought $45- $47 was standard for #20..... I really cant remember how much I paid though. I try to buy mine on a 20% off sales and such. the $28 right now is hard to beat or no? EDIT: I see you were refering to BPS. also who orders from BPS nowadays anyway? high on product and shipping.
  2. I am a dobyns user.......but the Pinnacle rods supposed to be bad ass for the price, as I have heard from a few people. out of the 3 you listed, I would go duckett, but just make sure you go up a power as the duckett fishes a power weaker than its listing IMO.
  3. sell everthing and just stick with lews, then all your reels will have Carbonfiber handles. Problem solved?LOL
  4. I don't think he did, cause he had not use the 10xd yet. wonder how a 1/0 on front and 1 on back go over on the 10xd?
  5. you can get KVD LL by the gallon at TW. DO NOT buy the 4oz bottles for $8 when a gallon can be had for $65. I get the gallon and use a "windex"/ quart spray bottle to apply mine. A gallon has lasted me a year, with a few squirts to each spool each time out or so.
  6. Tatsu has exceeded my expectations.....as I have ran it all year thus far. slack line ability to feel "ticks" is awesome memory is low, of course you should always use a line conditioner (I prefer KVD by the gallon) stretch is not a factor knot strength is amazing abrasion resistance is phenomenal plus I don't think you will find another FC smaller per # and when compared to other high quality FC line the cost is on par. On par you say? GASP! ......... #12 200yd tatsu = $40 ($28 at tw right now) #12 164yd Shooter= $35 but only 164 yards In fact, if you are not using backing you are WASTING money in this day and age. I use tatsu and get 3 or 4 reels out of each spool. as I only use 50-65yards per reel, which equals $$$$ saved. so lets say a guy has 8 rods, two reels with 10, 12, 15, 20 pound FC respectively ..... for under $200 bucks you can be set up with line ALL YEAR, Jan-dec and probably still have some left as the Tatsu simply last longer. JMO, take it as you will.
  7. in the thread linked above, ww2farmer pretty much nailed it.
  8. I get hung up too much and really don't have to worry about re-tying, LOL
  9. 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 black n blue green pumpkin w/ orange PBJ simple and effective, covers all the depths, and all the water shades(dirty, stained, clear)
  10. you might need some drawin' savve on that wound....
  11. EWG shakE from megastrike!!!! YES!!!!!!
  12. VMC spin shot hooks and call it a day.
  13. hard to beat the rage craw, IMO many people use the rage chunk, but I always get the full rage craw and bite it down to chunk size if needed.....saves room as I only need 1 box instead of 2. there are MANY MANY good trailers out there and hard to pick a bad one nowadays
  14. to me it just means, always knowing what your bait is doing. its importance is centered around choosing the right weight for conditions(depth, current, wind, ect) meaning you don't want to 1/8 ounce drop shot in 30 FOW in a 20 MPH wind.....nor do you "need" to drag a 1ounce football jig on 3FOW gravel bars
  15. You bet! I was surpised on how open they spoke about it, yet you could tell they were a little stand offish on some topics. really good series of vids.
  16. sounds like another game and fish commission "success" story ........
  17. +1 the redeyed spots always seem meaner
  18. first time I met Mark Rose. I saw him in BPS...... I really didn't figure it was him so I said, "man you ever get told you look just like Mark Rose." He said , "that's cause I am ." seen him a few times since at kids baseball games and such, he is really a family guy.
  19. I found the key words "low bridge" .........are you fishing from the bridge? if so, many times that is illegal. if you don't mind me asking, what are your disabilities? I ask because, is it possible to move down the creek, further away from the ticked land owner? and more towards public land?
  20. and be sure to use gold blades on your spinnerbaits now too.........
  21. yeap..........any body of water can have fish in it. many folks have caught huge fish out of "puddle ponds" that were never stocked..... nature(birds, wind, ect.ect) working at its best. same way stocked ponds get gar/rough fish..... they were never put there except by nature.
  22. http://youtu.be/hONJTxDhgjo there are a lot of good videos in this whole series on this topic, very insightful, IMO
  23. everyone has a niche. take clark rheem as example....... I heard him say one time that he really doesn't consider himself as a fisherman per say, but as a promoter. there are several ways to make money out there, some do better than others it seems.
  24. reminds me one time when I was on Beale Street ....... guy walks up to me and says "young man you're going to Hell!" I say, " No sir, I am going to BB Kings...!"
  25. yall should really get your meat from a source where no animals have to die, the grocery store.....
