  1. That Z6 is probably a little high on price being a 08. I would check boattrader and craigslist to see the going price. the z6 is a great fishing platform, there is a couple of really long detailed reviews out there on it. I would never buy the first boat I was set on, its just the way I am and like to shop it around, and once you REALLY get to looking there always a great deal on a loaded boat that seems to pop up.
  2. In the Tracker Avalanche I had it had 6 gauge so it was good for a 36v system. In my current z9 it is the same. Both of those boats came stock with a 24v system. Being that your boat 12v they might have only used 8 ga, so I would double check.
  3. I personally thing the swim jig is more subtle, sometimes they want that wobble and how the crank deflects off cover I have debated this very topic with myself many times and have yet to come to a strong answer other than the ole cliche "let the fish tell you" watch the classic next year...... all those guys will be chunking a lipless, compare to how many guy say they were throwing a swim jig.
  4. on the Z6 check the USCG plate.........Tracker has some of them "re-rated" because of a lean issue. The boat came stock with a 115 but many would lean pretty bad until on pad....... more power was the fix. some of the 08 boats might have the 135 rating so you would be good to go.
  5. chevy vs ford deal for sure. I had a terrova i pilot on my old boat and loved it (spot lock!!!!) only knock on it was the deployment/stow since it was electric steer. my current boat has a MG 109 on it, I like the pedal since I am more "left footed" but there are thing I dont like about it so much so I am going to go back to MK, probably the Ipilot LINK this time, or the foretrexx.....but probably the Ipilot Link. as far as the holes lining up. I think it is a crap shoot, I know on the terrova they did not match, but on the maxxum/fortexx I have heard of them matching up. If you were closer I would let you borrow the 72# MG 24v I have lying around to try and sell it to you if you liked it. good luck
  6. the 9 inch is goldie locks 7in too small.....12in too big....9 is jussssssst right. (insert that's what she said joke here)
  7. I use Tatsu form 8 pound to 25 pound . It is amazing line...... you can do a search for my past in depth comments of Tatsu. I will say here Tatsu is fine on spinning gear.... I have ran 10# on a 2500 and have 10# on a 1000 size now, I will however move to 8# at some time. I just want to use 8#, not that the 10# does not perform. as with any flouro, use plenty of line and lure conditioner, I buy it by the gallon, much cheaper that way.
  8. no worries girl........looking forward to seeing you and Glenn again this year!
  9. there is always rumor. I think the "big names" always get waypoint cards and such, or at least that is what you hear from other elites. Do they say that because it really happens, or just because those guys beat them week in week out. I have read accounts of a pro fishing a couple of mile long ledge all day in practice and finding TWO schools of fish on it. Two schools of fish on a several mile stretch of river...... only too have a "big name" pull directly up to both schools towards the end of the day . Pulled directly up to the school without fishing anyother part of the river or ledge. As I remember the quote it was the first time they had fished there and there was no way the "big name" could have pulled directly up to those two schools unless someone told him about it. is it against the rules? IDK, it is in the BIG grey area though...... however a guy can sleep at night and keep sponsors happy is the rule more than anything I guess.
  10. I wondered if that Zap would work, I used to use it a lot in school. looks like I will get a bottle of that and the loctite to see which I like more. thanks guys
  11. brand you use? not the glue to glue plastics back together, I have that. I am talking about the glue to tack a swimbait to a jig head to hold it in place. I have tried a few and either do not dry fast enough or does not hold enough.
  12. leave it to A-Jay to be level headed and make sense.....
  13. I like the gaff...... creates more action! lol
  14. I mean ya a funny guy, ya know just funny......... the way ya tell the story, it funny....
  15. well the win is 100K plus that can be parlayed into a classic win of 1 million + edorsement money. 40k is cheap then right? I say, find out what its worth to the guy, he can be set up for life if it is a really good spot on spot deal. You have to rememeber all the hours and work YOU put into finding the spot, whats that worth? its a tough spot to be in.
  16. got to go with Jeff here. Past that choice it is a tough choice. can the guys get info, sure. is it ethical? who knows, its a raging debate. not that I am bringing anything to light, but here are the issues/choices I see: 1. keep your spot secret, MANY people will see where these guys are fishing and locals will continue to fish these "pro spots" after the tournament.......if a pro finds it on his own, so be it. but is it worth risking losing your spot forever (least as quality goes) 2. if you do give up your spot, GET PAID to do so. Make them promote megastrike AND give you cash out of winnings.......by paid I mean at least 40k if they win, they get to keep the Classic birth lol 3.don't give it up and know you can always catch fish on a spot very very few know of. There are very very very few of these spots left......take pride in you have one. 4.burn the guy for even asking for your spot. 5. pay your way in and blow doors off the guys and fish the classic if you win? (choose here I think)
  17. BassnChris hit the nail on the head for sure. looks like the electronics forum is gonna have to be "remade" too. glad to be back "on air" !!!
  18. been waiting for that to happen for 3 years.... Mack Brown sucks and Nicky has the ego.....texas is the perfect fit and has the money.
  19. in that case, does it take an "athlete" to play left field LOL?
  20. I don't know if that is more amazing or humbling. for the fact here stateside we run around with our hummingbirds/lowrances and still stuggle on days.........while those guys are dink dropping 7#ers off a spot the size of a bathtub in 25fow. love hearing the stories from trips like this.
  21. a quick query of scrounga into google provides: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/gallery/image/7138-members-of-the-scrounga-club/ plus a young rapping youth named "JimmyJam".
  22. they got to eat , so I gonna be there to feed them.
  23. I was going to say the same rod or the 805 flip/punch in the champion line. pure quality Catt, 8 foot, stout and has cork. call and talk to Gary or Richard. You know what you want and they will tell you what fits with no BS.
  24. 704cb is THE jerkbait stick, that's gary's words not mine, though I 100% agree. I actually throw my squarbills on the 704, but I am light cover and only throwing 1.5 (you need the 705 for your squarebilling)
  25. yeap 705cb is your stick.
