  1. I did it for the kids Dwight, I did it for the kids.......
  2. I figured Jeff.....I can feel the love! but really it still shows the "older" threads just not anything I have posted in say the last 3-4 days.
  3. I wasn't making a wild guess for the fact you the compared the 783. That's what I was questioning. thanks for posting the numbers, so it stands it is indeed lighter.
  4. be on the look out for that post bandit.........ANYTHING that makes sense or is good advice, you know aint mine!!!
  5. are there still features not working? I notice threads I post in are not showing up in the "my content" section of my profile.
  6. you probably right SouthFLA.... I love the fact you cited TFM.com, best college satire site, ever (especially if you lived it/can relate.) ESPN runs/ruins everything. ESPN has the contract with the SEC.....so the money says a SEC will be there. OSU will bring the fans so they probably get there too. I personally would love to see a FSU/Bama game.... it has a classic feel to it and is a great matchup
  7. the problem with a FSU/OSU NC game is nobody watches it.......... remember the OSU/Miami NC game, neither do I. SEC, like it or not, brings the ratings........the name of the game is $$$$, not football. a SEC team will be in the NC game, just watch.
  8. the extra weight is because the Dobyns is 6 inches LONGER. the 783, is only a 6'6, correct? 78 divided by 12 = 6.5.....unless I am reading the Loomis numbers wrong. where does the GLX balance at? all my DXs I have balanced are 1 inch in front of the reel seat, no expert but its hard to beat that. not trying to argue but want to make sure we going apples to apples......hard to do if the rod is indeed 6 inches shorter.
  9. its still a FSU/BAMA champ game.......... no worries. that little "battle sparrow" aint jumping Bama much less OSU, I don't care who they beat. (yes this was said tounge in cheek, sorta) its still a FSU/Bama champ game..........follow the $$$ and the politics, not the wins and losses. 1FSU 2Bama 3/4 are interchangeable
  10. Chris, if you don't have to buy new, there are always great used deals on 1-2 year old boats, you can steal a boat if you are patient. and if you can wait that long, Mike, Tom and I all have nitros. Z7,Z8, and Z9, in fact.....so I am sure you can "demo" all 3 at the road trip if you want.
  11. I guess Long Mike didn't have those negatives burned after all!
  12. I have nothing to add but a hearty WTG!!! just wanted to subscribe to this thread.
  13. I really don't know too many people that ARE fans of BPS, it without doubt hurts boat sales. from what I gather through my readings, it "most" happy nitro owners have bought from an independent dealer.
  14. if you are in mats, you aint gonna be using a MH. I would go with ww2farmer because I know he does this type of fishing some AND he suggested an actual flipping rod (one labeled as such) in your price range. IMO, if you use one of the MH suggested here you are going to break it. MH aint meant to be flipping heavy grass. .
  15. that is the site I learned how to tie the blood knot......... I go there every now and again to look at knots and practice one if I want to try a new knot.
  16. what is your current shaft length? I am going to say it is probably 45 inches. I had a 45 in on my tracker 18 foot, when I got the terrova I put on it all I could get was 60 inch, installed no problem. I would just measure your current trolling motor and go with that. The only real reason I would get something else would be if you HAVE to lower it all the way in rough water, I would then go with the next longest to have the extra depth in rough water.
  17. the only thing I would "worry" about is if your ramp is smooth concrete..... if it is you want to watch for ice on the ramp. You don't want a ramp story to tell!
  18. I am glad I learned how to run a trolling motor in a tin boat, that's for sure! LOL.
  19. well the 13 in ribbon tail and 7 in senko example is a bad one since they are two totally different types of baits and action. you cant throw a swim jig when they are eating 8inch trout and you cant throw a hudd when they are eating young of year bluegill.
  20. these are two really good instances............ WRB, is correct.... but I don't need in a red/brown in my area as the crayfish are more green pumpkin with orange. to the same, I would say the green candy just matched the forage they were eating that day. cant throw black when they are looking for green (in general, for the most Part)
  21. I own a nitro and its a great boat as far as I can tell. I read all the "horror" stories and with each one of them there was something that didn't feel right about the story............ then I watched who was actually buying a new or used nitro, and I found it was some people I really respected and their opinion. the resale myth is bunk too...... if I buy a nitro for 40K, and you buy a ranger for 60k of course you are going to have "higher" resale... but when I sale mine for 35k and you sale yours for 50K in a year who really comes out ahead? the NITRO........ plus that 20K buys a lot of gas, tackle and hotel rooms. I am not saying Ranger, bass cat, Triton, ect ect do not make a great boat because they do. What I am saying if 98% of the people that bash nitro have never rode in one, much less owned one, so you got to take it for what its worth.
  22. I am too..........that's why I bought J Will's year old Z9!!!
  23. why? I don't like fore grips, so not a fan of loomis. Loomis makes a heck of a rod though, just not my bag.
