  1. I cant get involved unless there is a weapon being used. too many times this kind of deal is staged in an alley and you are the only left, bloody, crying and no money. I will call 911, and yell from a distance "hey fella, stop that, whats going on here." but I wont get close enough to touch them, or them me. if weapons are being used, then its going to escalate into something I really dont want , but I cant sleep knowing I did nothing at that point.
  2. sorry!! I guess I should have kept that to myself..... too late to go back and edit? I rarely do it as my favorite color is bama craw which already has the orange in it
  3. I dont know Shimano's line but I borrowed 00 mod mid crankin set up for the last 2 days and it was a great reel throwing dt10s.... smooth and chunked it a good ways it was a curado 200e5... I dont know how it compares to the reels you listed to ask about, but the one I listed was pretty nice
  4. if it is in my boat, I have confidence that it will catch fish. if I dont, it gets replaced or sold.
  5. I bought a boat with one on it. I had to send it in for repair........ once I get it back, I will be paying very close attention to what this unit does and how it does it. be looking in the future for threads!
  6. everything gets soaked in the clear. only other thing I may do is ....... 1. dip 1 inch or so of a tail in chartruse or 2. dip/or accent a green pumpkin craw bait claws in metholate. Green pumpkin dipped in metholate makes orange.
  7. I get all that........ but you started in how he hasnt caught yadda yadda in 30 years........ where's the pics...... did he even catch it. you forget sir, WRB, CATT and all these old timers did it without GPS, waypoints, sidescan ect ect. which is fishing at arguably a higher level than we do today. anyways..... I am out of here cause I am doing what you should have done..... dont like so I am leaving the thread and not gonna rail on somebody...no minds will be changed here.
  8. I can buy that Francho, and agree. though with something like the "carolina keeper" I think a swivel CAN be optional. I have seen 10,000 times on the boards "T rigged weightless senko" and everyone knows what you mean. but it is "wrong" in the classic "rigging nazi" way, LOL. I have always though of it as: t rig as I explained it drop shot is the weight below the hook carolina rig is above the hook but you are 1000% correct, the meanings have evolved through the internet age.... and not for the better for a new guy perhaps trying to make sense of it all.
  9. His attacks...... tone.... looking for a head to head battle isnt being civil, IMO Tom has forgotten more than most of us will know about fishing, lets not forget that.
  10. what I a lot is cut the weed guard of a football head...... boom insta shakey head. Scott Martin has a youtube video, it is posted here too about magnum shakeyheads. Siebert has the football shakes so you can check them out too.
  11. 1/8 oz shakey gets the Dobyns 742 spinning 3/16 or 1/4 oz gets the Dobyns 724 casting
  12. texas rig is a method of rigging on a hook...... it can be fish light, heavy, or weightless.... pegged or unpegged weight. classicly it is done with a sliding weight, but it doesn't have to be, or so the fish say.
  13. always have a rattle . I NEVER throw a jig without a rattle
  14. I right click on it........ then click edit.......... choose stretch/skew........ cut by 50% until you have a decent sized picture. or you can choose 10% right away. I never did either until I wanted to post pics online, I just learned here recently too. I guess my camera produces HUGE files.
  15. case in point...........last years road trip. I been catching them all week on a jig and shakeyhead, then I fish with Glenn......... well after Glenn had caught a couple DOZEN fish with a senko, I quit fishing what worked YESTERDAY/HISTORY and started catching fish today.
  16. geez this thread quickly went total cluster..... fishing history is something we all do whether you want to admit it or not....... even Elite Series Pros have said the best thing they have done is delete all their waypoints.
  17. edit the pics then post em up! great day!
  18. I actually laughed at ^ that one...
  19. LMAO, you have another way to explain it? hahahhaa I just seen too many guys just lick it, and that aint enough! ha ha
  20. I totally agree with that.....it is sad that companies dont use better stock hooks.
  21. oh I am Dobyns guy, I was just looking for a cheaper option
  22. my hook sharpener is a debit card. nevermind I saw that you didn't want to buy new hooks......... but my question is what are you going to do when you don't have anything else to file on? at some point you are going to have to get new hooks.
  23. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/127053-measuring-line-question/?hl=backing http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/126700-backing-questions/?hl=backing this should answer most of the questions...... included "my" method and the "00mod method" and several heavy hitters on the boards responded too.
  24. I don't know what yall are talking about......... slather enough butter or BBQ sauce on it and anything is eatable.
  25. oh yes! the Jeffro and Needham show has begun!
