  1. I thought it cost $7.50........ did they get some great sponsors/deals to be able to lower the manufacturing price? if so that's awesome!!
  2. easiest way to make a 4 pounder 8 pounds is post it on the interwebs easiest way to make a 8 pounder a 4 pounder is weighing it. #getascale
  3. RW is correct, during the road trip fish below the Wheeler dam..... it is right there are the resort. if we have current, you can drift live bait like we do below pickwick dam, GOOD TIMES!
  4. to play devils advocate I will say: I don't need rods or reels, but I LOVE throwing a jig and shakey head!!! I am not fishing any tournaments right now, but I plan to. Do you think you could sponsor me and send me a couple hundred jigs and shakey heads? I promise to support your business!!!
  5. according to a guide I spoke with last week..... the smallies are already moved up on pickwick/wilson. if this current warming trend continues down here, the smallies should be about done by roadtrip time, as far as I know as the water temps are beginning to get 60 now in many places. but, for the Road trip and the shot at the best smallie possible, you will need to find the fastest current possible, fish the edges of that current and be a little deeper. I am not a big smallie guy by no means, but talking to the guides down here, they will spawn in 10-14 foot and hang deeper when it is all said and done. If Dwight disagrees with any of this, then take his word over mine and dont worry about it.
  6. baiting of brush piles? is that the dog food trick? I always heard about it, but never knew if it worked or not. I always thought it was a joke ..... how do you catch someone dropping dog food?
  7. I'll tell you what that fish is....... A STUD. past that, it is so hard to tell by pictures.
  8. Fracho is right........ but I am a cynic. it only takes a spoonful of poop to ruin a whole gallon of ice cream, lol. It is a shame either way...... I know good fishermen here locally that will not fish a tournament because of known cheaters still fishing some trails.
  9. I really enjoyed it too........ I'll tell ya, Gene makes it look easy!!! It was a much needed trip for me, as I have had issue in the past catching fish post front. It was really nice to go out, catch a few early, piece together what was a pretty solid pattern and start culling! A real confidence booster. and truth be told, it was the first time I have fished lizards, I actually had to buy some the day before, so it was fun to add another bait and technique to the arsenal. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that hook again...... very nice set up, that sticks a fish hard! cant wait until Mike starts selling them.
  10. here is a video of several hook sets while fishing a T-Rig

  15. about as versatile as you are going to get right here.
  16. I use 65 yards of top shot so in a 200 yard spool I rarely have much left if any.
  17. never really had a horrible experience...... I read read read , and do a bunch of research before I buy most things
  18. welcome to the boards! everyone does things a little bit different. myself, I am mainly a jig and shakeyhead guy. I am trying to branch out to throw cranks and Carolina rig....texas rig more... I just for the first time fished lizards this weekend. When I first started I bought anything and everything that looked or sounded good, so my advice to you is read read read, and fish fish fish..... then piece it together over time adding a new bait here and there, a new color here and there. Be simple, do the basics and try to do/fish them well. I wish would have when I got started. you are in the best place on the 'net to learn new things, colors and baits, so enjoy it!
  19. andy, who makes that guide hat, I like the looks of it...... I have a Columbia one and I don't like it much. the bill on mine is not wide enough and the neck drape is a thin veil material.
