  1. I have said that many times too, and many times I got flamed over it. but it is 100% true. so enter the "they get paid to use it posse"....... which is again false, they get paid to use BRAND not TYPE.
  2. you are still trying to make blanket statements........ come on down to Pickwick and throw that braid, it aint gonna work. you can read for a full week here on the boards about FC vs Braid. you said you used the search, do it again..... ANY FC thread the braid posse comes in and tries to extoll all the benifits to make themselves feel better..... simply put I would use mono before I used braid..... but thats how I fish. if braid works for you, then it is awesome line...... just make sure it fits YOUR situtation, because it dont mine. Good luck and tight lines no matter what line you use!!!
  3. yes I cut a hole. GoPro is on suction mount on the windshield. I will get you some pictures this weekend (I store boat at lake)
  4. is all you do is crank? IMO the ONLY time braid is superior to FC is topwater or heavy grass. braid has reduced sensitivity on ALL slack line baits. Braid is NOT more sensitive. braid can not be used around rock, well it can but you'll cry when a fish cuts you off. braid, I am a firm believer reduces bites in many situations (I have seen it and people I REALLY trust have seen it) the WORST backlashes I have ever had were with braid, it is instant scissor time, the stuff digs in and your done. those are my opinions based on my experiences......... but if you want to use braid have at it, many people enjoy it, but I am not one of them. To each his own.
  5. ^^this is totally false. you should fire that search engine back up and read EVERY thread you can find on the topic.
  6. backlash on braid = scissors. braid aint the answer to everything. OP needs to tighten spool tension/set more brakes. run before you walk......you'll be flinging it out there backlash free in no time.
  7. I do not object to listening to music while fishing....but NEVER with headphones.
  8. I will say the times I have done well on a black and blue senko is in the spring when fish are on beds... the water was "clear" 3 ft vis....black and blue looks a lot like our lizards around here. 98% of the time its green pumpkin for me.
  9. I do it all the time.......... I remember when I first joined the boards some of the most stupid questions you could EVER imagine. it is fun to see though, sometimes for kicks, I scroll back through some stuff I asked/said just to see how much I have grown in fishing.....then I realize I posted it yesterday LMAO
  10. I would have a lengthy list......... but an USB charger to keep the phone and GoPro charger is tough to beat.
  11. How can I make it to Carnegie Hall?
  12. you can throw any color you want as long as it is GreenPumpkin! I only keep two colors of senkos, green pumpkin and black and blue. with senkos I feel it is the "action" that drives them wild , not the color
  13. It's good to be king!!!!!! LMAO one day, one day when I settle down...... we'll film a jeffro and needham show on the high seas!!! looked to be a great trip with great crew and folks!!!
  14. I always use the rage craw......then bite it down to whatever size you want. creates one less bait to store.
  15. is it just the downsize OR has the downsize made you slow down??? not saying you are wrong just giving you an added question to ask yourself. I know Slooooowwwwwwwwing down has helped just about every facet of my fishing this year.
  16. wont work. A buddy of mine needed to change plugs in a 2009(Ithink) mercury 90 optimax since it was idling rough. went down to the parts store and got plugs, installed them, it ran worse. He took it to a boat mechanic and the mechanic popped off the cowling and in 10 secs said "there's your problem, you got the wrong plugs. You have to run merc plugs." installed Merc plugs and it ran like a top!!! Disclaimer before anyone bashes me...... in the older motors I THINK you can probably get away with it, but the newer motors you have to use manufacture spec'ed plugs.
  17. about sums it up right there!!!!!!
  18. ah yes, the lost art of pick up. LMAO
  19. exactly........who are we kidding, we get excited about buying line!!!
  20. I am late to the party........ but in my mind here is the golden rule: Don't worry so much if you can TOW it, worry if you can STOP it.
  21. yall are getting mired down in what "covers water"....... when you need to be thinking "what catches fish" and that is the right bait for the right times added to the confidence you have in that bait. I own 4 spinnerbaits...... does that mean I cant cover water???NO but then again I don't "cover water" I try to fish where they live from the get go.
  22. hop, drag, stroke, pop, twitch, shake, rattle and roll, I do it all.
  23. hahaha, I would hope after 2 months you are set now and still not trying to spool up????
  24. Roger that is OUTSTANDING!!! I am going to have to read that a few more times before I even think about looking at my maps again!! we have all seen it and heard it many many times, but the way you explain it is just wonderful! THANKS
  25. food shelves vs retreat basins........I don't follow or at best I don't fully understand I have heard fishindaddy speak of your map prowess RoLo, please, and I mean PLEASE expand on your thoughts... I would LOVE to hear this.
