  1. ALWAYS have a dedicated cranking battery! all accessories, lights, and pumps are also connected to the cranking battery. so you need 4 batteries....... 3 for trolling motor and 1 cranker
  2. I have a factory rod holder like yall pictured building......... not sure if I like or not. I suppose if I used rod socks(like I should) it would be better......it just feels like I am more prone to snap a guide off trying to slide it in and out of a hole.
  3. high water, high flow is a winner high wind, low temps....not so much
  4. with the pounding rain we are currently getting driving back from Pickwick........looks like we will have decent current for the trip. Wilson will be releasing 93K starting Tues......... hope they run that ALLLLLLLLLLLL Week!!!!!!!
  5. In my mind just becuase it weighs more or less does not make it smaller profile. a 1/4oz jig has the same profile as a 3/4oz jig unless you trim the skirt or change it. head weight is for rate of fall, skirt is for profile/bulk. that my opinion.
  6. maybe I wont try to make it after all........
  7. you got the right idea bigblock.......... but remember a bigger trailer will make it fall slower. some lakes like a fast fall, some lakes like a slow fall and even that varies from day to day. with the bigger trailer you could go back to your 3/8oz and be the same fall rate as your 5/16 with "normal" trailer.
  8. cool, I want to see it. My last boat it was kind of a bear, as the trailer had to be real close to the right depth or it might not center up. The boat I have now, it is pretty good. But like you I am fairly retentive.... so I winch it up more. I drive on, kick in out of gear to let it center then give it a little nudge. I don't drive all the way to the bow stop, and wont.... I don't mind giving the winch 10 cranks, the last foot or so..... of course I am 37 now and I am sure that will change too in the next few years! LOL
  9. truth! I have picked up a few with a flutter spoon when they will not hit anything else. its wild, you pull into a cove and think you are going to whack them only to not have a bite for the next 2 hours even though they are busting within 10 foot of the boat.
  10. rage tail thumper and zoom ol' monster
  11. oh........you mean that's not normal? nevermind then
  12. nothing like a 100 crickets to me...
  13. I got mine back from repair. Great customer service.... in fact I think they just sent me a new unit instead of repairing. Not bad for something that was already on the boat when I bought it! Hope to use it this weekend and see what it is all about.
  14. can yall not just drive on your trailer now? hell, I guess I need to talk to Chris too, I must be missing the boat somehow with the product.
  15. well after a quick search I see they offer a 200 yard spool. $58 for a 200yd 20# spool........ and to think I swallowed hard on the Tasu price knowing I was buying the best. UGH, Guess I need to take one for the team and try it out. Have to compare sizes first as I refuse to use anything bigger per size.... it does look interesting ......
  16. now yall got me wondering too!!!!!! I wish the Gamma was at least 150 yd spool so I could split it. as a tatsu user I get three, 65 yard topshots out of a 200 yard spool.
  17. Looks like Big O might have dink dropped a record or two....... ATTA BOY!!!!!
  18. I use Blood knot buddies of mine use uni to uni Last time I spooled I tried the alberto.... I can tie the blood faster. any of the 3 will work and work well.
  19. Snook since you are the saltwater guy around here I got a question........ look up the state record in Texas for this fish, I found it to be 38# or so if I am looking at the correct species. What say you?
  20. he meant your Alabama one! ZING!!!!!!!
  21. excellent point RoLo......... if we believe a bite can ignite a school (it can) then it only makes sense to believe it the other way, one can also shut down a school.
  22. best boat guide? The steering wheel. hey Bassin Chris, your video says "private".... I would like to see it, I might be missing something.
  23. don't have more than 10 per person! lol
