  1. Yeah, Sorry guys, I mainly fish for just bass. I forgot to mention that earlier.
  2. hey guys thanks for all of your input, I think I am going to go with Shane's recommendations.
  3. Hey everyone, I am in the market for a new rod/reel combo. It can be a spinner or a baitcaster it don't matter. What do you guys recommend? I do most of my fishing in the everglades, lox, broward canals and lakes. It don't matter the price. What have you guys been using?
  4. Capt. Shane is right. If you wait for the report you missed the bite. I would rather not get anything and then have a good day every once in a while. There is always some good and some bad especially in the summer down here because of the heat and the water levels.
  5. Thanks guys for all the posts. I actually have been extremely busy with my wife expecting our second one, which is a boy this time! I actually got to go out behind my house in the lake on Saturday for about an hour. All I used were red shad culprits and second cast boom. caught a 3 pounder. not that big but decent. About 15 minutes later I caught a 4.5 pounder. Nice size bass. It was a great day after that. If I would have stayed out longer I probably would have kept roping them. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon, but at least I found a good spot. It sure was hot out that day.
  6. Yeah man, you guys are right. I'm in the market for a boat now, so I will just take my time and look. By the time I get a boat, the bass will be back out, and the weather won't be as unbearable. I think a lot has a lot to do with the water levels we have been having in the everglades as well.
  7. Man, I don't know about you guys, but for the past two weeks I have not caught nothing. I have been using Jd's custom baits frogs and MW worms, culprits, senkos, you name it, i have been using it and I have been getting nothing other than a couple of bites. I went out to lox on Monday when there was a huge thunder and lightning storm and fished in the rain for about two hours, figuring it was a change of environment and I still got nothing. I have even changed my line from mono to braided and back again figuring to eliminate any variables. Last Saturday, my bro in law and a friend rented a boat at holiday park, and what a waste, you're not even allowed in the flats. Not one of us caught anything. Nothing. I have even tried some local canals and lakes around Margate and Coral Springs. Just hitting a huge dry spell. One of the longest. Just checking to see how you guys are doing out there. Maybe I need some new spots to fish.
  8. Capt. Shane, I want to go, but I don't have a boat. I can only fish from the bank until I get a boat.
  9. Man I would to fish with shane. I am going to holiday park a few guys. I have been following his videos on youtube.
  10. Went and hooked up with midnight cur and found an awesome spot in lox just fishing from the bank. Caught three bass and some bad run ins with quite a few gators. We had a blast though for only about 2 hours of fishing! I was just using senkos which worked out awesome, and midnight was using a top water frog. Awesome time. Going back out tommorrow!
  11. I also have no boat. I was thinking about getting a little johnboat just to fish on in lox. It seems like all the fishing spots off the banks have just been beaten and there is nothing. I use Senkos and top water frogs sometimes. Anyone have any tips?
