  1. Good turnout today, I'm baked
  2. I bought a bps crank that was in the bargain bin and decided to use it. It does somersaults and flips out of the package. Its the most ridiculous thing I've seen. You'd think it was covered in weeds or the line was caught in the treble hooks. I think the only way to tune it is to put it in the garbage. I have a red eyed shad that runs almost horizontally. Ive tried making adjustments with pliers and no help. I think they are probably defective at this point unless you have any tips
  3. I have the same problem with mine
  4. I have no boat so I assume we will be fishing off of the c 14 itself (shorewalkers)
  5. They love kvs 1.5s and they pull drag like Eddie Murphy on Hollywood Blvd
  6. You want a higher gear ratio reel for that technique (flipping pitching) to take up the slack quickly. You can use a 6 ratio reel if you need one for all around fishing also but most/I prefer 7. That winch isnt made for that type speed to take up slack even tho it has the torque to pull the fish out. If you are a revo fan you may want an sx or sx HS(7 ratio) for this technique especially since it has 24lbs of drag
  7. works well on a jig too but I hate when the fish steal his claws =(
  8. Ill try this out more and try making one soon to see the difference on 2 different rods
  9. Ive never fished a C-Rig ever in my life, always wanted to make one but never got around to buying the parts/kit. I saw one of those premade rigs at Walmart for 1.96 similar to the bps ones that are 6 bucks. Any tips/reccs to using one of these? I have rods with braid, mono....I plan to use a mono leader and use lizards and creaturebaits for now. Experts chime in. Thanks
  10. I caught a 36 inch snakehead on a medium carbonlite and it was handling it like a champ. Light rod, Very pleased with it while I had it. Would buy again.
  11. I had one at one point I got as a gift...I would have def bought them at that price, wow. I did use the slyder wheel to make a bait twitch and catch a fish. Ill check to see if they are that price at my local walmartseses, Ill buy some too
  12. They make delicious subs
  13. Did you say cavitates, lol......the read was good. Glad to hear it held up well. I hear the breaking strength is high. I have the same setup as you as you know but with 12lb. I also like it alot.I got tired of having braids on almost every reel. I got the camo green color. Seems good, It pulled in a 5lb bass in the weeds with ease and I will test the snakes with it too.
  14. Im not sure where you are in wpb where you'd want to spend a lot of money on a cranking rod since our ponds, canals and lakes are so shallow and weedy at times. Gander has a nice shimano rod for about 70 bucks off of the shelf thats cranking specific. tw.com has them on the site but Gander has them off the shelf Shimano_Convergence
  15. Never used one but when I look at them the guides are always off center/bent in the store veritas is great tho, love mine
  16. You should be way more than satisfied.
  17. orra s for a budget reel..salt water ready also? You can buy from wally and if it sucks you have no problems returning. Pole money left Or you can go Shimano, Pflueger as others stated
  18. thumbs up on both used red label before, got kinks from backlashes and it would break on the spool...I got a kink in the xps and it just smoothed back out where I thought it would break also PQ, great reel, if the spool tension button clicked..I would moonwalk down the block from joy
  19. I had red label....bad bad. Im using XPS now, spooled it today , it casts well 12lb
  20. I crank with the 6ft6 m. Works well, hooked a huge soft shelled turtle and muscled him to the shore with no probs
  21. Craw on the jig for the bass and a toad for the snakehead
