  1. I have both in 7ft m/h. I prefer my Veritas. If you want a micro guide version, they are 70 bucks from walmart, shipped to store. Both are good rods but the veritas feels better to me. Abus customer service is top notch. The overall warranty will be longer on the Abu. I lost a piece on my Revo, they shipped it to me, no charge. They just warrantied a rod for me with no hassle, no receipt, let me pick another size/action and didnt charge me any shipping. People seem to love the carbon lite for bottom contact, but it can handle other things well if you do choose it. I caught huge snakeheads on it and its held up but the Veritas is my 1st love and plan to have a few more. I haven't had any breakage and the warrantied damage was from buying one that was mistreated in store at BPS, something overlooked.
  2. I can't speak in terms of the exo, but Abu has amazing customer service if any problems. The medium veritas may fish like m/h based on casting models.
  3. rhymes with rick red
  4. Those storm shad always swim on their side for me...am I doing something wrong? Others never do.
  5. So the Skeet Reese flipping stick is illegal, say it ain't so
  6. I went with the 7'11 flipping rod for heavier baits, thanks for the help.
  7. The one in South Fla has a huge fishing department
  8. I have a spook,sexy dawgs and frog r's
  9. The gold one I had was smoother than Billy Dee Williams, I miss it. The newer one, not so much, wasn't as bad as people reported though in roughness. The Bezel fell out on the new one around the line guide so I returned it. Should never have traded in the gold one. I'm tempted to buy a rh for cranking if still on sale after new years.
  10. these reels were amazing, I found one used in lh for 50 shipped and I have to buy another handle for it because of a crack....I like it that much
  11. many on this site would probably say its attached to your neck *zing* I kid, I kidback to the G rated discussion...it seems like everything at DSG is on sale right now, which is muy bueno...my gift cards went farther than expected
  12. Usually a senko type bait in green pumpkin, watermelon red or june bug secures a fish for me
  13. Most Walmart stores sell the Berkley shock at 40 bucks in 6ft6m/mh and 7ftmh And regular versions in more sizes
  14. Lol, tell me about it. Life was more simple when I had one 17 dollar daiwa spinning combo with mono. I still have more reels to buy...I mean collect.
  15. Thanks for that insight. Yeah for some reason I just default to a 7ft rod so I figure go up in height now, lol. Being that you recc that 7ft6 rod, I wonder if I should return the flipping rod. The fs rod is 7ft6 mh extra fast 1/4 to 1oz, the veritas is 3/8 to 1 1/4 or keep it since actions/weights are different. I was using a 7ft m cranking stick for top water, jerks, spinners, but if the flipping rod goes back I can get a 6ft6 f&s model for those duties or purchase one later. My problem is too many options, but your advice sounds like where my mind was going Current casting rods 7ft bps carbon lite micro mh 7ft veritas micro mh 7ft Berkley lightning rod mh 7ft bps cranking stick med 7ft abu vendetta med 7ft 6 field and stream flipping stick mh **6ft9 mh veritas micro.....replacing/swapping
  16. Warning, may be confusing. I have a 6ft9 micro veritas that is being warrantied..was a gift I can replace it with the same micro rod or any of these models in regular guide format VRCM69-6 (1253049) 6' 9" 12 to 20 MH F ...original rod being warrantied, guide issue VRC70-7 (1205850) 7' 12 to 25 H XF 3/8 to 1 1/2 9+Tip D 7ft heavy VRC711-7 (1237124) 7' 11" 12 to 25 H MF 3/8 to 1 1/2 9+Tip C 7ft11 heavy flipping stick VRC73-6 (1205851) 7' 3" 12 to 20 MH F 1/4 to 1 9+Tip D 7ft3 mh VRC76-6 (1205852) 7' 6" 12 to 25 MH F 3/8 to 1 1/4 9+Tip E 7ft6 mh My dilemma is I already have a 7ft mh micro guide version veritas My other rods are mostly 7ft/mh of various brands, abu, bps, etc I just got a field & stream flipping stick that is 7FT6 mh telescopic, so not sure If I should just get the 7FT11 and return this one...did I need a flipping stick, no but I had gift cards and it was inexpensive. I wanted to do this technique more. The size maybe overkill since I have no boat, thats where you can advise. Maybe keep the cheap flipping rod and pick another veritas model Should I keep the 6ft9 since I have no rods that short, but I could always return the telescopic rod if the 7 ft 11 is picked and get a shorter rod ..confused yet? Now the longer mh rods are there 7ft3, 7ft 6.....I could make into a dedicated frof or Jig rod based on recs using one of these and my other 7ft micro veritas I wanted a 7ft6 heavy but they dont make one, just in 7ft...but is there any reason to get one since I have a7FT MH model HELP! Id like some input/advice/suggestions/ideas..thanks
  17. sure was
  18. I love this bait. Been rigging it on a weighted swim bait hook and rigging it with the tail veritical, tail vertical slicing the tail down the middle and rigging horizontally (top water). Bass have been killing it the past 2 days. I used to use them for rare flipping occasions since buying them on clearance.
  19. who would trust you on this topic with a screen name like that?
  20. snakehead, it looked like it survived doomsday. The other ones I catch look like models in comparison
  21. receipt perhaps =)
  22. I have to use different ones for scenarios but Id pick the bps ones for me overall usage. I have the most luck on zoom horny toads in black, when it comes to bass, even though its not my fave in the sense of design. Maybe the noise is enough to entice but not to spook, when compared to others. I like BPS humpin toads, great durability/noise/action for general overall use. Rage Shad for air raid quality noise and water disturbance when needed JD's is most durable, heaviest and has great action
  23. asparagus stick...probably more durable and comes with a better warranty than any E21 rod
