  1. Usually the ones that dont fight get killed upon hookset, lol The smaller ones seem to get killed from hollow body frogs on occasion. You know its rip when you can ski it in. I've caught my biggest in Coral Springs and Lauderhill. We've even caught some in Plantation off nob hill road and cleary. I swore I saw a small one come out of the grass and surface near target in royal palm beach but I wasnt 100% sure, but since some of you said they are up there it may have been. For people looking to catch, try to fish on a hot sunny day, they will be alot more active than a cooler one If you are in Coral Springs, 99% of the canals off of Sample road, starting from the sawgrass xprswy will have them. Look on google maps for canals with alot of walking room because you will have to do much of it if on foot, if not you will be driving all over the place. industrial areas and business complex canals will usually have a ton also since people arent fishing them as easily as apt complex canals where you can just walk out back. Golf courses seem to be holding monster sized ones. Ive seen/missed/caught ones that are 36 inches and more. Soon you'll see balls of fry popping on the surface, just cast and get your lure into the fry ball and 99% of the time you will hook up. Ive had some instances where the snakes just want the lure out of the area and they swat them, you can tell they arent into attacking, just giving a warning to get away. Seems people hate them, but I love them. My fave freshwater fish to catch (havent caught a snook or tarpon yet) over peas and bass. They are ugly but pretty to me =). My buddies and I caught this one about a week ago, was fun hauling it up the rockledge
  2. You can also frog, Carolina rig, flip n pitch, fish traps with those rods That falcon heavy might be lighter action than the mh veritas but have the same lure rating?
  3. They are amazing. Life long customer here because of it

  5. Hatcam, I need one myself.
  6. I know what you mean, I found a pack and they seem actionless and clunky.
  7. I use the trilene knot for everything
  8. only on wfn here and i dont have it on the tv package so no go
  9. My rep has another one on the way, hopefully UPS will be nicer
  10. This is directly from abu so Ill see. Lol, I had 2 carrot stix fall apart but I love the color lol.I think I saw a fish shimano sticker on the UPS truck, might have been one of LMGs followers or henchmen.
  11. It was broken in the box. I know the delivery company has to be to blame. Nothing like seeing a 7 ft 11 rod in a 8+ foot box crammed under a 7 1/2 ft front stoop. It was probably powerbombed through a flaming table like wrestling before it even got to the door. Monday started out crappy, got happy, back to crappy, but we are all alive today! Abu's customer service it top notch so I expect a reply shortly from them I saw the box after hearing the doorbell and started to get jiggy but my jig got hung up on a limb
  12. I need braid for snakehead/bass fishing areas.Too much risk of losing fish and even worse, lures. There's no way I could have retrieved that fish in my avatar without it unless on some really heavy line. I use other line for other applications/areas though.
  13. They make a trilene xl braid because if not the mono isn't going to cut it where I fish.
  14. I was wondering because the catalog showed the cork version. I prefer last years look to the cork/Burgundy coloring combo. I see the reel matches the micro rod
  15. Since BPS is near you can try a bps cranking stick, veritas winch, duckett, carbonlite etc If you wait til the end of next month the spring sale starts and you can save some coin on rod n reels, especially with trade ins...PQs are usually about 70 new during and many other reels can be had as you probably already know. Powell diesel is 70 if you want a cheaper priced cranking rod.
  16. My friend had the same rod, fished cranks on it using braid and a 7 ratio pro qualifier and caught tons of fish. He only had one rod and it worked. He wasn't losing tons of fish either, it was a good general purpose rod. Should do well for you if you want to cover many techniques, without having a dedicated crank rod. He also caught many fish like the one in my avatar with it as well as dink bass. You'll love it, dont have buyers remorse before you fish it. I have the same reel MG, the brakes on 4 or 5 seems pretty consistent for me. Its like the speed spool with more metal and clicking parts so you should be familiar with it already.
  17. Worms, jigs, frogs, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, etc. Basically anything for general fishing.
  18. The line is actually made by a korean manufacturer I read somewhere way back found it, not sure if true and I dont know much about line makers so I have no idea who they make line for "Made by Delux in Korea, they make many lines for may companies.."
  19. I put it on my revo in 50# recently because it was cheap, needed line and thats what I had enough on me to buy that day. It's been holding up well, no issues. It's handled some big fish and a good number of fish in total. I've used it before in lighter tests but on cheap baitcast reels so I couldn't evaluate it properly because of backlashing, etc. Its diameter is larger than others. The 50# is equal to 14# as where power pro 50# is equal to 12#, but for 8 bucks I'm not complaining. Not as noisy in comparison to some other braids I've used. If I noticed any abrasion on areas, Ill cut that segment. Only have done that once and was under 2ft of line that rubbed something jagged.
  20. I use one baitcasting or spinning setup mainly. Sometimes Ill bring both. Usually there is a Senko attatched to the spinning for site fishing bass if I'm primarily using the baitcasting setup. If I'm at a lake where I know there is no point bringing the baitcaster then it's the spinning rig only. I mainly use a 6ratio revo sx on a mh veritas 50# braid Spining is an Orra S combo with 10# braid I have some leader material 12# fluoro for both
  21. Interested to see if anyone has been blessed enough to get some sort of longevity out of their E21 rod. If so, what model.
