  1. You might need some a.r.t therapy or have something out of alignment and the fishing irritates it. Problem could be a loss of range of motion and its putting pressure on your back trying to compensate.
  2. I throw them on my 7ft mh or 6'9mh but Im sure the winch model would be great for it , they have a 7ft m mod and 7ft6 mh mod
  3. Dont worry, its on again tonight...just saw a commercial
  4. Why thank you, they are my favorite freshwater fish to catch.
  5. amazon or online is the easiest
  6. I'll pass on wading in most Florida waters, lol. We've had the HOA remove 10ft gators in my housing development. I think I can stomach that much better in saltwater areas.
  7. I get more way UPS deliveries but fedex has been better IMO, they also deliver on Saturday around here
  8. I hear if you buy a smoke buy the 150
  9. add a leader when needed
  10. Maybe you can buy a spare spool?
  11. The rod prices must be related to gas. Wow, how much more do they plan to charge?
  12. If you look on the bay, you can find some around 50 dollars. I used my friends when we went snakehead fishing and it was pretty decent but if you are going to pay the full 80, you might as well pay 100 and get something that may last longer and is aluminum frame.
  13. You have nothing to worry about. Some other companies want you to saw the rod in half, ship it to them, blah blah...pay 40 dollars, ignore your emails, not ABU. The couple times Ive dealt with them over at Abu has been great. I use other brands also but, customer service is a main reason that I will continue to buy their products. I guess there is a reason they say For Life.
  14. One day shortly Ill catch one of these beasts, thanks!!! Last time I caught anything of that size in saltwater I was out in the middle of the ocean in 05.
  15. they should put a disclaimer +/- 20oz , that should buy them enough to play with
  16. Ok thanks, I may start off with a used AVID for bottom contact since I see those on forums. See how it compares to what I have now, hopefully it feels like the swat team is at the door using one of these rods when a fish hits a worm or jig. I wont know until I jump into the higher end. @hootie...sorry if it seems like I hijacked your thread, not my intent
  17. True in itself, but when a company advertises their rod as lightweight on their site, some people may be inclined to ask how many oz it is.....I would as the OP. Our GLX Jig & Worm casting rods are designed specifically for fishing jigs and soft plastics. They feature a split-grip handle with our "mag touch" trigger reel seat, Fuji Titanium SIC guides & tip-tops. Legendary for their sensitivity, these rods will tell you everything that's going on with that bait, no matter how deep the water or how thick the cover. They have extra-fast actions, allowing you make accurate, low trajectory casts with plenty of power to handle even the biggest bass. Made with a gorgeous dark green blank, they look as good as they fish! If you're into lightweight and sensitive, power and control, then the GLX Jig & Worm Series rods are just what the doctor ordered!! Lastly..Do you have one of these rods, if so, its it as great as some claim to be? I have never fished more than a 100 dollar bass rod, so I have no idea. or the NRX
  18. Normally you are all smiles , but with this post I envision you like this, lol
  19. thats normal price, should be lesser unless you are speaking on the new version with micros...reg version is 39.99 online at the moment I dont see why the academy rod wouldnt suffice and I own the veritas rods, the warranty from academy is no hassle over the counter as well. Most seem to love the normal version. I would like to try one myself edit yes the micros are 59.99 as you stated its rated Lure weight: 1/2 - 1-1/2 oz. and the mh model Veritas rod in 7ft6 is 3/8-1 1/4oz
  20. My friends fly fish for peacock bass, snook, tarpon and redfish. I will try it one day but it looks like alot of effort, once spring/summer comes the pea bite should be great locally
  21. this was a review from tw I recently purchased a Helios HX-25-s on eBay, a model not shown on TW's website. (It has a 6.0:1 retrieve.) It is a beautiful reel It is very smooth and very light. There is a problem. After opening the bail, the rotor often gets stuck at the point where it is supposed to trip the bail and make it close. The problem is much more severe when the anti-reverse setting is on. I sent the first one back to the vendor, Fisherman's Headquarters, who paid the return freight. (By the way, they couldn't be nicer.) They expedited a shipment of a replacement from Tackle Haven. The replacement had the same issues, despite Tackle Haven indicating that they had checked the reel before shipping. I sent the replacement back to Okuma. They are curious and concerned. I will receive a free hat for my trouble:) They say they can adjust it, but I don't understand how there can be a problem like this. Can there be a bad lot? On paper, it looks like a great deal. A light-weight, carbon-fiber reel with a mail-in, $30 Okuma rebate, seems like a no-brainer.
  22. You should like them alot. I have 3 now and wouldn't be opposed to owning more. I also love the customer service from Abu/Pure Fishing if and when needed.
  23. Time to start testing the fisherman for PEDs
  24. I fish from shore for fun so much of that is moot to me. It just that its ...oh a fish is on...reel 3 seconds, its in. Repeat for 6-8hrs at times depending on the gear and where Im fishing. Once in a while Ill hook a mayan cichlid, cat, or snakehead and itll change the tempo up at times.
