  1. I thought the reel was smooth and casted awesomely. I don't own one but Id have no problem buying one at a discount.I don't see why not if you want one, but I'm sure someone will try to sway you elsewhere though.
  2. You have tons of choices with the BPS stick and the customer service is top notch there so Id go that route. I have one for shallow divers.
  3. I used it as main line, terrible experience with breakage on the spool, but it works awesome as leader material(red label). I ended up using it as that.
  4. That sounds awesome. Probably do this shortly, def cheaper and closer than lake O for now.
  5. I have the exact same reel, I wasn't that fond of it at first but I love it now. I have few issues with back lashing if any..more overruns if any at all. The trick for me is to keep the spool tension a little more loose than normal. Brakes go up to 5 max now if that. The reel is smooth, really smooth. I have 12 fluoro on it for jigs and it sends them flying. The spool holds a lot of line. Like others said you can get it off the bay cheap and the more upgraded reels for around the msrp of the MG or slightly more.
  6. Thanks, never used but will try
  7. I used it again today, 3 fish caught in less than20 casts in different lakes. One went 4lbs 5ozs, these flat out work for me. The same bait is still being used and still looks unscathed. The fish have been inhaling these baits.I'd buy more but I'm still on the first.
  8. Sounds like great fishing can be had but already swapped plans, still going to fish tho. We will try next week. Thanks
  9. thanks, we put the fishing off until the weather is a little more stable
  10. Do you know what the wind was? This would be a rental boat so I assume it would be much worse than your situation. I think its forecasted 13mph
  11. Id like to go there on Sunday since the wind is a bit too much for the lake o trip. Has the fishing been productive there if anyone knows? Thanks
  12. I got a jig hung up on 12lb today and I had to fight to try to break the line off. I got frustrated but I actually got my jig back. Same thing happened yesterday and I pulled a tree limb in until the limb would move no further. I had to wrap the line around the reel feed to break the jig off. Ive broken PP braid easier at times.
  13. 0 luckily, other than normal hook pokes
  14. After that video, Im retiring!!!!
  15. I love the trilene knot..I hardly waste any line on the tag end and its so easy to tie and cinch down
  16. Ive had great luck with zman lizardz in watermelon red. Caught over 50 fish on the same lizard. I also use zoom in junebug and have had great success started with one of those walmart luck e strike 4 buck packs
  17. Hopefully you capitalize. Thats awesome you have a kayak. The wind is crazy outside, Ive been getting bitten on jigs but that all Im fishing at the moment. I caught 2 today on some finesse jigs, dinks but fish is better than no fish in the cold
  18. I have one straight braid reel I use all of the time, I may switch it to high vis yellow to see if it helps "line watching"
  19. I will patiently wait to get an ugly stick from the flea market
  20. I have 12lb flouro and hybrid on most reels 1 reel with 50lb braid and 1 with 65 I have jigs ranging up to finesse?? to 1.5 oz. I fish mainly with the 12lb test fluoro reel on MH rods The rods I have seem to max out at 1oz and feel a bit overpowered with some of the heavier jigs with trailers, I will step it up to a Heavy powered rod shortly Ill probably stick to the 3/8th and under on them then until I beef up the line and gear. Thanks
  21. Do you have a max weight jig per certain lb test? Example is you have 12lb test on your reel, do you not throw over a 3/8 or 1/2 oz?
