  1. I was going to rec one of those because the handle is shorter and I notice kayakers seem to like rods with shorter handles
  2. Honestly, I dont even know. I just look on the shelf and buy one that looks sturdy
  3. I tie the line directly to a snap using a trilene knot and then just change the lures as needed. I put the snap thru the split ring thats on the lure. 99.9% of the time. I use fluoro. mono, yo zuri hybrid..... 12lb ...I dont care I have a rod with braid also Ill use if thats the only one I have on me or sometimes I want to rip lipless cranks out of heavier weed
  4. Great rod overall, well built, sensitive, looks great but cons for me short handle, wasn't noticed until I caught an 8lb snakehead, that 1/2 inch to inch compared to some rods made a difference in control tucking the rod under my forearm. Its shorter than every other rod I own. reel seat where it meets the cork. Initially I found it comfy but it makes my palm hurt at the ball of my pointer finger when casting which someone else said they noticed after using it for a bit....That happened to me using it during extensive testing. I noticed it when making repetitive casts during my topwater testing. If I space my hand away slightly, no probs. I have no problem with my other rods, so its just this one. It may be user dependent because some people say the veritas hurts them an I have no problems, but something to be aware of I probably wont have many issues with either con since its my jig rod. 7ft1 mh
  5. I have pain when I cast one handed, 2 handed casting solved this for me. It took lots of stress off of my hand trying to balance everything on its own, especially with a heavy bait. I had tons of pain in my knuckle and wrist initially (right hand). I can cast one handed with no probs using my carbonlite combo and light baits but I still usually use 2.
  6. I caught a snakehead on saturday and a school of bass came along with it for the ride. They almost looked as if they were trying to free it. The only positive thing about the roundup is that people may actually eat the meat since they fillet it/donate it rather than leaving it on the bank but its overfishing at this point, but you could do the same with bass and or panfish that has a bag limit Its still my favorite fresh water fish to catch, cant top it in terms of excitement/size of potential fish. This one was huge, potential record fish, he didn't even care, just caught and released
  7. I'd keep the lews on the ethos. Mh may be better for you if general purpose fishing than the H, if true to action
