  1. I have the same reel. I used it for that purpose initially, it worked great.
  2. you can fish them year round in south fl but its better when its hot as they are more active goto tamarac, coral springs, margate you can try the canals off of sample rd starting at sawgrass and work east, look on google maps for canals
  3. No bass but did catch 3 snakes on my spinning rod. It was alot of fun because the drag was screaming even when locked down tight. I usually use baitcasting gear and my revo doesnt even blink when locked all the way. The not fun part was trying to get the fish out of the weeds it buried itself into because the canal was so narrow. I saw 2 pairs with fry, one set were about 9lbs a piece but no luck. Its crazy when you see one come out of cover and see the red eyes looking at the bait.
  4. Thanks, Its zoom lizard but the color changed from mixing with other baits. I think it was supposed to be junebug.
  5. http://vimeo.com/70421786 heres a vid, its about 20 mins
  6. Bps carbon lite 6ft8 or 9 m/f
  7. That study is totally different from the Bullseye variant we have here in So Fl
  8. My friend loves his, says its as good as his veritas if not better I have one of the older ones(non elite) in 6ft6 m, it seems to outcast almost all of my other rods that are pricier and longer in length
  9. You may want 40-50lb braid(power pro/suffix) I prefer 50 --can use leaders if needed (mono/ fluoro/co poly)-- You can put tape on the spool after a cast to prevent bad backlashes while learning. Prevents the backlash from going too far 12 lb yo-zuri hybrid 10 bucks for 600 yards on ebay ---good all purpose line, breaks around 19lbs 10-14lb mono if you like mono--suffix elite/siege --- trilene xl/xt Fluoro sinks so if you plan to fish top water it may give trouble, but I use it on a dedicated rod and as leader for my braid rod
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmkLJR6gSQY
  11. I caught some around tropical park
  12. I had great luck with suffix elite 14lb, it casts well. Suffix siege has more abrasion resistance if needed. I also like Trilene XL, havent used the xt but I heard its good also.
  13. I missed that part, same reason I dont have one check dicks sporting goods, many shimano citicas are on clearance for about 75 bucks 100 and 101 model in store...if there is one near c5500s were being thrown out also pretty cheap
  14. Looks pretty dope to me, I like that. I would definitely work that slow, really slow. Edit just saw the price, lol, Ill pass
  15. Kermits have horrific reviews overall
  16. They'd surprise me with some Left Handed reels
  17. 150 yards of power pro is 12 bucks at walmart up to 50lb, 65 is slightly more sometimes they have omniflex braid and some sort of spider wire for lesser Also Dicks sporting good seems to have 20% off right now on PP bought 300 yards for 19.99 yesterday, 150 will be lesser
  18. Yes, Ive seen many on export sites
  19. Their warranty response is great, send them an email or call, they will take care of you
  20. I bought some 15lb invizx for 19.99 from Gander and 300yds of High Vis PP for 19.99 from Dicks Sporting Goods I went to Bass Pro and they had me standing there for about 10 minutes without even acknowledging me when I was attempting to ask about a price match. They are usually good there but today's morning crew was horrid. I just put the line back and left. Bass Pro was trying to sell the same Invizx for 26 bucks, PP is 12 dollars for 100 yds not 150, the 300yrd spool was near 35 dollars. They had some 15lb triple fish fluoro at Gander for 9.99, which seems to have pretty decent reviews but I just went with the Invizx.
  21. I just bought 2 LH on clearance from DSG for 42 bucks a piece using a ten off coupon on each for a general purpose beater and light salt.
