  1. I bought yo-zuri fluorocarbon line for less than 12 dollars
  2. I think I'm done for at least a month Finished the 1st combo here, might just put the Zonda on my Powell Endurance for now when the reel arrives.
  3. Revo Elite Aurora 64 Limited. The finish made me do it.
  4. On my gen 2 I used to make the spool tension as loose as possible, just short of there the spool rocked side to side. I turned the brake up to max, then turned it down incrementally from there. It was almost 3/4 of the way up or more, but I used to get tons of distance, no backlashing and I really didnt need to thumb the spool. I used to hate that reel but after I got it to my liking it became one of my favorites. The next model up is the stx, which has dual braking like the PQ.
  5. I'll try that myself
  6. The default rod suggestion is usually 7ft m/h for that, plenty that fall into that lure rating. Theres a bunch of $100 dollar rod threads on most of the pages and you can narrow it down. Check dicks sporting goods, they have a clearance sale going at many stores right now. example from search http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/157264-best-do-it-all-baitcasting-rod-under-100/page-2?hl=worm#entry1774283 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/151806-dobyns-new-contender-for-the-100-rod-catergory/?hl=dollar
  7. I expect epic pics after July 4th sales. I may have 1-2 more purchases in my future but the extreme heat probably wont allow me to fish them until January =/
  8. You can get the curado i on ebay for 120 shipped
  9. The telescopic version usually collapses down to a smaller profile so you can store it in a rod locker on a boat since many don't hold rods of that length. I had a telescopic flipping stick once, I returned it because the handle was stuck and it felt like a lead pipe. I don't even know why I bought it, I don't own a boat
  10. If you can find an old crucial at DSG, they were $40 bucks for the 6ft10 spinnerbait rods.
  11. If you're having 1st world problems, I feel bad for you son, I've got 99 problems but a reel ain't one.
  12. I have some bright orange suffix elite mono if you are looking for another hi vis mono. Most braids will lose color but you can always buy markers and cut a slit in the tip of them to reapply color
  13. The absolute pinnacle of the Megabass line, the ARMS is a masterpiece both to be admired and fished. Featuring Fuji Titanium SiC guides, custom carbon-fiber accents, a metal reel seat custom built by ITO Engineering, hand-finished wooden Maple grips customized for right-handed or left-handed anglers, Hi-Impact Multiplex Graphite blanks from tip to butt end of high-modulus braided graphite, and that fit & finish that can only come from Megabass. These rods are made in extremely limited quantities, and as such, are not stocked at Megabass USA. However, if you are interested in one of the ARMS rods, we can special order one for you. Simply follow the link on the right-hand side to our contact page, and a representative will contact you shortly with the details.
  14. Picked up an extreme mission
  15. Monster still has the curado $40 off if interested
  16. That was my favorite part of the whole purchase, the newspaper that came in the box.
  17. Pros n cons. I have 2 of each and use the curados more. They feel better to me overall, size etc. My tat type-r 8.1:1 feels like is laboring on certain baits that it shouldn't, so I found myself using the regular version of the tat more in the 7 gearing, the R looks better to me, should have gotten the 6. whatever. I honestly think the curados cast as far as the tats if not better. The braking is much easier on the tat to dial in since its external and you just have to deal with spool tension rather than opening a side plate for the internal braking, then adjusting the secondary dial plus spool tension on the curado. The tats are less expensive, they were 50 off retail when I got them way back and now they are even cheaper, under 100 retail for the regular and 130 or lesser for the R. Curados were to be found for 129-139.99 recently on retail sites which is less than what I paid which was retail, ebay still has them discounted under 140, oooof!
  18. I bought a clearance endurance 723, it does feel softer an it balances great. I was late to the Powell party but based on the purchase and your review, I may be intrigued to pick one up, especially since they are 20% off right now on BTD . com. Enjoy fishing it!
  19. Your phone should give you enough lighting from the screen or flashlight unless you have a Motorola star tac
  20. I started with RH reels and it never felt right to me trying to walk the dog with my left hand being right handed. Bought a LH reel on clearance and haven't gone back.
