  1. You can get the Avid for $150 on Gander Mountain's Website with the $20 off code. (Just search for GM Coupon codes on google) It also has free shipping.
  2. Yeah, I exclusively fish from my kayak so it's hard to use rods longer than 7'. I'll just try fishing them on both rods and decide which one to use.
  3. 1. Rage Craws 2. BPS Shimmy X2 Worms 3. Livetarget Gizzard Shad Cranks 4. Baitcasters (1st Year using them) 5. Sebile Magic Swimmers
  4. I am going to use one of these baitcasting setups for small swimbaits like the Sebile Magic Swimmer, Spro BBZ-1 4in 7/8oz, and the Livetarget Blueback Herring. If I add any more they will be under 1oz. The two setups I can use are a BPS Extreme 6'6" MH Fast with a Shimano Chromica 200B 6.2:1 and 10# InvisX or a Falcon BuCoo 6'0" M Moderate with a Ardent C400 5.0:1 and 12# Hybrid. If I have some success with this technique I will surely get a dedicated rod and reel.
  5. I got to use a Daiwa Pluton when I was on a charter fishing the flats in Key West. It's a heck of a reel. The reels they normally use for Tarpon and Snook are usually 400 series but this 200 series matches up to it with a much smaller profile. I had a great experience with it tossing MirrOlures. I can't vouch for it in Freshwater though but that was my experience with it.
  6. I recommend Seaguar AbrazX for flipping in cover. I like 10# flouro.
  7. He said he only caught a few of them and wants to know how to get more. So they are schooling bass.
  8. I took your advice on the Bucoo for my cranking rod and ordered it. Can't wait to try it out, thanks.
  9. Get the Carbonlite. You should never buy a rod just because it's a deal. I would just go to the BPS at great lakes crossing and hold both in your hand if you haven't done that. I am a huge fan of BPS rods and they are great rods for their price. They also have great customer service and warranties. JMO
  10. I do believe Tatsu is better line. I don't see the need to spend $40 on line. I feel money can be spent other places even if he can afford it. I don't like spending a ton on fishing stuff even if I can afford it.
  11. I love how FLW is written.
  12. And it is $40. I figure that your statements are right on the money but $40 for fishing line? I understand if you are a tournament angler and you need every advantage but for the average fisherman InvisX is the winner.
  13. I really like my Bass Pro Extreme Rods and I use a 6'6" MH for my T-rigs
  14. What is the point of the different weights?
  15. Seaguar InvisX is all you'll ever need
  16. I'm almost positive they are the same.
  17. Thanks that's what I thought when I saw it too
  18. I use a 6'6" BPS Extreme rod for my t-rigs
  19. I went to a local garage sale today and got a lightly used BPS Johnny Morris Signature Series Spinning rod for $10. I didn't even need the rod but couldn't pass up the deal! Everything is functional and looks great. It is 6'0" MH and has a Moderate-Slow taper. I honestly have no idea what to use it for
  20. You should use the original hybrid line. I use 12# test.
  21. The spinning setup I use for wacky rigging is a BPS Extreme M 6'0" rod and a Shimano Sahara 1000FD reel. I currently have Sunline Machinegun Cast Copoly on it in 12#. It's getting really stiff and has a bit of memory so I'd like to change it out. I am also having trouble noticing a bite. I don't know I have a fish until I reel in the slack line. I was thinking of using the mono for backing and putting Seaguar Kanzen on it. If I go in that direction would it be helpful to tie on a Seaguar InvisX leader since I have a little of that left over? Do you guys use mono as backing or some other technique? Also any tips on wacky rigging would be helpful as I just started using it and it has put many bass in the boat.
  22. Both and a lighter more balanced rod as companies claim.
  23. Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra-Soft
  24. If oiling it doesn't work my guess would be while you left your sideplate off it got dirt or dust in it.
