  1. Money aside the Steez. But value wise the Core.
  2. You also could put this on your bucket so you don't have to lug around a tackle box. It's called the Plano Bucket Topper and it's around $10 at most stores.
  3. I assumed he had everything set properly and was using a somewhat decent line. I'd fish with yarn before Vanish.
  4. X2 I already have a Koppers one so I don't need another.
  5. I only have the GIzzard Shad one. I caught 15 bass in a day with it. I cranked it today for a little bit and got a dink. It works good, nice action, nice wobble, and it has sharp hooks.
  6. Shimano Core 50MG Reel Shimano Cumulus Rod Buy them on the labor day sale if you can.
  7. I think that they improve your catch. It could be the difference between a fish holding on long enough for you to set the hook or them swimming away. I like the Strike King Coffee spray but I only use it for tournaments and such. You will go through them pretty fast.
  8. I just work them similer to a T-rig.
  9. It's very hard for a fish to do that when you have pressure on them. If you let the line go slack and they run and you try to re apply pressure it will result in a rubber band effect with mono and flurocarbon which might snap the line.
  10. Yeah but a 4 lb fish isn't deadweight. When the fish is in the water it weighs less than on land. This is proved by Archimede's principle because the water pushes the fish upwards known as water displacement. So there is little to no chance that a 4 lb bass could have snapped your line if there was nothing wrong with it, especially at the reel. Once again you most likely had a nick in the line so I would check to see if the ceramics are in your rod's eyes and in your level wind.
  11. Well there really isn't a conclusion based on your answers.
  12. You're sure that it didn't rub off on a rock or something? I don't know where you live but it could have been a small pike.
  13. Did you get a new rod? I thought I remembered you having a veritas with your speed spool.
  14. That would be a line slip not a break off.
  15. Not unless it has nicks or frays in it.
  16. I'm liking the PB&J one, nice work!
  17. Another good option is the old crucial that is closing out for $70 on West Marine
  18. 1. It can be used to T-rig for sure. It is a little on the heavy side for spinnerbaits but it should work. 2. It's not a bad combo or anything but the rod is not the best. 3. I might upgrade the rod later on but you're really getting the rod for $30 and Abu doesn't sell it seperate. 4. I don't like how the Pro Braid handles but if you like it that will do. If not I would recommend Power Pro or Sufix 832.
  19. I absolutely love the BPS Extreme rods. I use the 6'6" MH with a 6.2:1 Shimano Chromica. I just got a Falcon BuCoo today from TW and it feels nice in my hand and can't wait to try it out.
  20. 1. Toyota 2. Subway 3. Yum 4. Gamakatsu 5. Ranger 6. Shimano 7. Seaguar
  21. Crappie's aren't afraid of big lures. My friend caught a 17" crappie on my Yum Dancin' Eel.
  22. I think Daiwa's high end stuff is a little better than Shimano's but Shimano's low to high medium stuff is much better than Daiwa's. I'd take Shimano reels right up to the Daiwa Zillion because I love that reel.
  23. I like the Rage Tail Crappie Grups tipped off with a small vmc jighead. You can get them at Dick's, Bass Pro, Gander Mtn, and Cabelas.
  24. For general unhooking you have to push the barb in then pull the hook the opposite way it went in.
