  1. A good all around combo in that price range would be a St. Croix Premier 7' MH Fast paired with a Shimano Citica 200E or a Curado 200E.
  2. A 6'6"-7' MH Baitcaster can do all of your techniques fine. When I fish from my kayak I only bring 3 rods and reels because I don't have a whole lot of room. You can cover almost all techniques of fishing with a 6' M Fast or Xfast Spinning Rod, a 6'6"-7" MH Fast Baitcasting Rod, and a 6'6"-7" M-MH Moderate Baitcasting Rod.
  3. I wear sandals when it is warm but I see a lot of pros wearing crocs. I live in MI so in colder months I wear rugged shark shoes. Here are the ones I like for boats. Bill Dance Pro Fishing Shoes Here are the ones I like for shore fishing and kayak fishing. Aquamesh Water Shoes
  4. I purchased a Apple Macbook Pro this year and couldn't be happier. I has been going strong and fast as ever. I can watch movies on Netflix and Skype friends and family without issues. It has a hefty price tag but the HP laptop we bought last year isn't anywhere near as fast as it was when we bought it. Our windows laptops still get viruses and such even with Norton 360. My mac doesn't have any virus protection on it and it is very rare to receive on a Mac OS.
  5. If the flipping switch is engaged it is supposed to do that.
  6. Try the hair rig. Just google it, it's a a great technique.
  7. I'd go with 20# for spinning

If your afraid to use light line than maybe Berkley Nanofil would be a good choice. You can get 10 pound line with a very small diameter and would be able to cast that thing further.
  9. Lovin' #3 Outstanding work

Use a lighter rod if you have one.
  11. The nasty wooden knob you are calling is actually teak. I have it on my Stradic and like it just as much as other handles.
  12. Sunline Super Natural is my favorite mono but I use a lot of co polymer and I like P-Line, Sunline, and Yo-Zuri.
  13. I'd also suggest looking around for used reels. I got my Stradic for $20.
  14. We headed out in the kayaks on Lobdell at 4:00pm and fished until 7:45pm yesterday. I threw a Little Creeper All-American Trash Fish the whole time trying to get a new PB before the season ends. I didn't get a bite at all. My dad fished a Sebile Magic Swimmer and caught 3 sunfish oddly enough. He also caught a bass and 2 pike on a rapala husky jerk. All the fish were pretty small with the biggest being a 19" Northern Pike. Seems like whenever I mount my video camera on my kayak I get skunked.
  15. I searched bluegill beds and this is what came up, so I think you were right.
  16. What makes you think they aren't bass beds? Whatever they are they are pretty cool.
  17. I love the Shimano Sahara so much. I've caught 6 pounders on the 1000 series. I clean and oil them about every 3 weeks and have never had a problem with them. The funny thing is that they are cheaper than your Symetres and I've heard other people have had problems with the Symetres too. I also have a Shimano Saros 2500 and it is a very light and strong reel, no problems with this one either. I also like the Okuma Trio High-Speed. Pfluger makes a decent reel too.
  18. I hear this every time I teach someone about T-rigging. They'll say, "I'm not hooking up on my hooksets it must be this weedless hooking it." and I'll just laugh at them and say "Believe me, it's not the way you rigged it is not the problem and if you don't like don't use it"
  19. That's weird because I thought the TW tubes were indestructible. But if it was beat up because the rod was moving around, it's TW's fault for not packing it good. They did that with my rod. They only bubble wrapped the top 2 guides. I haven't had any problem with USPS except that once you get past the 81" mark, the price soars up. After that length I go to UPS. I have only used FedEx once because of the price. Oh and sorry I didn't mean to confront you I just was trying to get further info.
  20. I haven't heard any horror stories about UPS or experienced them myself. In fact, TW ships their rods UPS Ground. Plus, UPS insures anything under $100 for free.
  21. Nice, I got a 300 yrd spool of P-Line CX for $3.50 and a Rapala DT Flat for $3. Not a whole lot on sale at mine but I got some line for my new daiwa so I'm happy.
  22. I really haven't had a problem with my reel seats before. The ones I have are ECS though. Then again I only put one finger past the trigger so nothing feels very uncomfortable.
  23. Nice work, I like #6 and #11
  24. Man that guitar fish is weird looking.
  25. I don't really like your choices but I'd get a Shimano Sahara 2500FD and a Shimano Compre Drop Shot Rod 6'8" Medium. I love the Sahara and have held one of the new Compre's and they are nicely priced.
