  1. I think TW had it right and you were asking a lot of them. I wouldn't even expect them to price match it in the first place and you want them to use the same coupon as Cabela's? I think you need to listen to your self and put yourself in their position. If you live in California you obviously have to pay taxes since you both are located there.
  2. San Diego Jam is my favorite knot. I suggest if you have an ipod touch or smartphone to download the knot wars app. It shows animated videos and gives instructions on many knots for you to try.
  3. If you are switching from Ardent to Lews then you will notice a huge difference in quality and performance.
  4. Added two new combos for this season. One is my Plastics setup which is a BPS Carbonlite 6.4:1 Reel and a e21 Carrot Stix Original 6'6" MH/F with a Sweet Beaver. The other is my Flip, Pitch, and punch setup. It is a Shimano Curado 200E7 on a G.Loomis GLX Fsr 905x with a Buckeye Flat Top Finesse Jig and a Paca Chunk Trailer.
  5. I'd buy a Flipping Stick and it can double as a Pitching/Frog combo. I encourage you to try Pitching because it is not just for slop fishing. You can pitch into all kinds of structure. My flipping stick is what I use fro flipping, punching, pitching, and frogging. The rod is a G Loomis GLX FSR 905x with a Curado 200E7. For $50, you can buy the Daiwa VIP on TW for $50 (Regularly $125). Get that rod in 7'3" Heavy/Fast and you will have a nice stick. It has alconites and the same construction as the zillion rods. The carrot stix gold rods are on sale there too.
  6. You'll love Kayak Fishing if this is your first kayak. I fish exclusively from my Kayak expect in flw tournaments.
  7. Were talking about the Ima Rattling Roumba and they are both Wakebaits. Lucky Craft is replacing the RC with the Skeet Reese Fat Smasher I believe.
  8. I think they are about even at that weight with a slight edge to the sol. Sol can handle 3/16 and 1/8 better though. Although my 200E and Carbonlite can toss 1/4oz as far as I need to.
  9. I got mine for $0.98 at DSG a while ago. I haven't caught a fish T-rigging them but really don't know how to rig them. I put the hook through the side of them and kind of rigged them verticaly if you know what I mean. Haven't really gave them much of a chance though.
  10. Do you plan on using it? I think the crank adds to the look and meaning of the reel.
  11. Sounds like they will dominate that price range.
  12. I've heard a lot of good things about that rod and reel if it helps. That will be one sweet looking combo, black on black.
  13. I love fluorocarbon. I am not a fan of braid but I know some members swear by it. The better lines I've used are Sunline Super Fluorocarbon, Sunline FC Sniper, and Seaguar InvisX. If I had to use braid I would use Power Pro Super Slick or Daiwa Samurai. I use either all fluoro or fill half the spool with cheap mono first to save some cash. I use a double clinch knot to connect the lines together. I like 16lb Fluoro for crankbaits, spinnerbaits, plastics, and jigs. For flipping, pitching, and punching, I like to use 20lb. I currently use all baitcasting from my kayak and in tournaments because it helps tremendously. But if I were to bring a spinning rod I would spool it up with 6lb InvisX. If you can afford Toray Superhard Upgrade or Seaguar Tatsu go for it, I haven't heard many bad things about besides their hefty price tag.
  14. I think it would depend on the situation for me. I like full cork grip for spinners, cranks, and jigs and I would take the avid. If it is any type of plastic fishing I would get the crucial. But if I were you, I'd go with the crucial.
  15. Merry Christmas Everyone!
  16. Use your Revo SX and get a 7' MH/MF Shimano Crucial Cranking Rod or a St Croix Premier Glass. I'd recommend going to a local BPS or Cabelas if you have on to hold them both.
  17. "Micro guides are even more of an advantage on spinning rods due to their usual lighter power. In any application the smallest lightest guide that will get the job done will allow the blank to retain more of it's design characteristics. The more weight you can reduce, especially from the tip, the better the rod will perform." Quoted from DVT.
  18. Really, are you sure that you don't just agree with the statement, "You are going to lose fish with crankbaits and jerkbaits using braid." Because everything else is a FACT. Let's Start from the top. He said stren was a cheap line earlier which it is considering it is mono. So I told him that Spiderwire is a cheap line compared to other braids. Nothing false with that statement. Moving on to the next statement that you even said yourself in your reply. You will be losing features of the higher end braids. You said that Spiderline is not the best in your reply. When I said that you will lose fish using jerkbaits and crankbaits. You may be able to compensate the braid's zero stretch with your rod and play the fish a bit more but you can do this way more efficiently using mono. And now the final statement, do I even have to say anything here? If you are not willing to downsize your gear and use fluoro then you don't know what you are missing. So if what I said couln't be further from the truth, care to enlighten us on the truth then?
  19. I've used both the spinning and casting versions of the older model. They are a nice rod for the money.
  20. Spiderwire is a cheap braid, you may not have noticeable problems with it but you will be losing features of higher end braids such as sensitivity and farther cast length. You are going to lose fish with crankbaits and jerkbaits while using braid. You don't know what you are missing if you are unwilling to use small reels and light fluorocarbon.
  21. Maybe if you bought some decent mono or fluro you would find it is better than braid. If you think mono and fluoro have problems, then you are about to see what happens to spiderwire. But really 65lb Spiderwire won't accomplish all techniques even if you like it unlike most of us. Buy some Sunline, Toray, or Seaguar Flurocarbon and you will be amazed how much better it is than Spiderwire. Yeah it costs some extra bills but it is worth it in the long run. For the same price as the new Citica G you can get another Curado 200E or 50E which is a much better option. But if you want a citica then buy the 200E.
  22. I said the graphite was the same and that the blanks are not the same.
  23. What was the point of that?
