  1. Fluke, wacky worm or fluke, red eye shad, sammy, pointer, or gunfish.
  2. I don't understand why you would want to buy a whole new reel for a travel rig. Dump the money into the rod and use one of your other reels. When you get back from the trip I assume you won't still be using your "travel rig"
  3. 6'6" M/F St Croix Premier or 6'6" MH/F Falcon Lowerider XG I own both and they are great rods for squarebills, jerkbaits, topwater, and pretty much anything.
  4. Why don't you get a two piece St Croix Premier and use one of your current reels? I don't see the need to buy a whole new reel for a travel rig.
  5. Abrasx is only $20 a spool.
  6. There are a lot of iffy reviews on both of them so I say.... get a Shimano Core
  7. It was CX for sure. I have a suspicion that DSG was just wanting to get rid of some old spools of it though because I got it at one of their sales for $2.
  8. I have bought hard baits without issue from there. If you are using PayPal then don't worry about it. They will refund even out of their pocket if anything goes wrong.
  9. I got it on sale at DSG a while ago to use for squarebills and spinnerbaits. I absoulety hated it. I don't know if I got a bad spool or what but I will never use it again. It got extremely coiled after little use even after applieing L&L. I didn't feel it had better sensitivy or abrasion resistance although I caught a few pike with it. I was using 12# by the way.
  10. Step down to at least 10#. Some of my favorites are InvisX, FC Sniper, and Sugoi.
  11. I'd use light fluoro on the nrx 893. That's a big discount on the t3 isn't it? I thought it was $430? It may not be a great reel for it's price but at $130 off it sounds like a good deal. I'm sure that you will be happy with the chronarchs though. It may be just me but I think the chronarchs would be a better choice from a tournament standpoint because the t3 seems a bit finicky and that dialing it in would be wasting precious time in a tournament. I'm sure you will be happy with either choice you make.
  12. I have a feeling that we are soon going to see many lakes banning the use of soft plastic.
  13. Welcome to BR! You seem to have the right idea so far. Unless you are set on the Chronarch E's, I would take a look at the Lew's Tournament Pro. The new chronarch's are almost identical to the old Curado e's. I find the Lew's to be smoother and lighter than the new chronarch. If you follow through on my idea I would get the 6.4:1 for your 704. I would get the 5.4:1 for your 705. As for lines I would put a nice mono on your 704 such as Seaguar Senshi or Sunline Super Natural. For your 705 I would use a nice Fluoro or mono your choice. For your LTB braid will work fine.
  14. I love when he does that it makes good tv. How can you say that is disrespectful to the fish when you are tricking him in his own environment and putting a hook in his body. The fish doesn't know what Ike is saying and it isn't hurting him so why whine about it?
  15. No need to say rude things to me. It isn't a necessary piece and most reels don't have it. I have only took it out of one of my reels and that was because I couldn't get it to fit right after it fell out. I was just discussing the topic so no need to make it a personal matter.
  16. Not true. BPS isn't trying to get people to buy LC over SK. BPS has a strong relationship with SK and gets exclusive products.
  17. Looks like a nice combo. I'd go with the 7'MH with a 6.4:1
  18. 5.5-6 is my estimate
  19. Ike's hilarious and he did that out of passion for the sport.
  20. Well I use Oakley's special cleaner on my glasses. I haven't had any issues with fogging or moisture while fishing or any other activities with mine yet so I'll hold off on using L&L on them.
  21. My Shimano Chromica 100b is probably my favorite reel. Is it my lightest, most expensive, farthest caster, or best looking? No it isn't but it was my first baitcaster and I can't make it backlash if I tried and it can cast pretty dang far. I like that I only paid $40 for it off the Bay. Honestly, I like all my reels in my current lineup. (Curado 200e7, Chromica 100b, Carbonlite, and Chronarch 100b.) I am a Shimano guy though but can't afford to pay $300 for their "light" reel so I got the carbonlite on sale.
  22. He was obviously joking.....
  23. TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a great pass at the end but Thomas made the play.
  24. It is unnecessary to have it because that is what the AR bearing is for. If the AR bearing fails then the reel relies on the AR pawl. If the AR fails then you need to get a new one since you don't want to rely on the pawl. You can always put the pawl back in if you want but most companies don't even put one in. Does removing it make it noticably smoother? I can't tell but smoother is smoother.
