  1. I have had a Buck and a Gerber that would not take an edge.
  2. I'd be LOST without my Spyderco!!! The blade on it says Seki-City Japan. (It's an Endura 4) My older one (Renegade?) Was made in Golden Colorado. I like them both but if I had to choose I like the Japan made one more.
  3. I have my rod in my hand all year.
  4. I hated to be left out ...... I'm thinking about 8# line and a LTP reel
  5. If you stick with the 15# fc you can finesse a jig more imho... I'd also think about a 7'6'' rod if you already have a 7' I've tried 25# fc and it is best for jigs over 1/2oz DISCLAIMER= results may vary varry
  6. I could use some pointers on that lake, I'd go.
  7. I have a question, what gear ratio reel should be used for deep cranking? I assume a 5.1 but does anyone feel that a 6.? gets there cranks deeper?
  8. I called them and asked about the trade up program after we discussed the issues with my rod. I gave them the serial number off the rod and they depreciated it because it was made last year? I said I bought it less than 3 weeks ago and it's now defective do to no fault of mine? to this they told me "but it's used now" St Croix of S**t
  9. I have a 7'11'' rage with a loose front reel seat also. They are made in Mexico and have VERY POOR quality control.
  10. I had the insert fall out of mine so I took it back to cabelas and they exchanged it Today. They never asked for a receipt they just told me to go get another one Big 2 thumbs up for cabelas! :Victory:
  11. I like GP/Black jig but I was out of that and most of my other favorites but I made some jigs Today with the skirts I had left.
  12. Any advise on fishing the dot?
  13. Yea that place makes Sturgis look like Church camp!
  14. Thanks, I knew their would be a way but I haven't booked a flight yet so It'll have to wait till then. My other problem is we are returning on a Tuesday and my wife has night class on Tuesday evening If our flight is delayed I'd hate to make her wait on me to get the gun. How does it work Do they bring it to you after the flight ? It surely doesn't come up the escalator with everyone else's stuff? And we will have a layover. and may switch planes.
  15. ^^^He said he did^^^, Hey Peter if you want I'll tag along Sunday. I had plans with the family Today.
  16. I'm going to Fly down to New Orleans at the end of September for my anniversary. It will be me my wife, a Friend of mine and his daughter. My question is how do I get my gun to New Orleans? Sorry I don't fly alot so this may be a stupid question but can I check it in at the airport? Obviously I'm not talking about a carry on. I've also thought about mailing it to the Hotel and just picking the package up as I check in but I'm sure the ATF would frown on that because it was not shipped to a FFL holder... Me and the same buddy went to New Orleans last year and had a blast! I love the French Quarter but it's definitely the dirty south. There were places late at night including our hotel (WORST HOTEL EVER!!!!!!!!!!) that I have no desire taking anyone including myself without a 45 or 2. On a side note Anyone that wants to take a couple guys fishing or show us some Gators in the swamp let me know.
  17. I'm ready let's go! Txt me
  18. Mine got bent and is now oval shape the jeweler said they could resize it but I said " NO it's finally comfortable"
  19. My FAVORITE rod was built on a 7'mef popping blank by MHX HM it is a great blank that has a TON of sensitivity! it's paired with a tuned Core 50 and 12# shooter "invisible?" It's an incredible blank that should have broken a long time ago. I had a 4.5# bass slam a fluke with only about 2' of line out. I instantly saw my rod tip under the Right side of the Kayak and I was holding the rod on the left side!
  20. I think this technique works fine for a flip but I still swing for the fences on a long cast... unless I use braid. But then I swing and miss some...
  21. Frogs are for Lilly pads. I just don't have Lilly pads on the lake I like to fish. I have thick grass mats that cover the surface like the pads cover the lake you fish. It may be easier for you to drag a fish through your pads than me to drag through the slop I have to drag a fish through.
  22. It will work but it will probably be far from ideal. I normally frog Hydrilla? mats and not pads but I use a 7'6''EH rod on 50# braid.
  23. 9 times out of 10 I will pick up a longer rod ! I'd go with the MH.
