Water temp was 68 this morning at daylight. This is a pic of one of the DOZEN + Zebra rocks we snagged into and boated Today .

Well we made the trip to Melvern Today. at 3;30 am the forecast was for 5mph winds HOWEVER, by 5:30 am that had changer to 10-20 with gusts to 30mph! So basically it was just as windy as our last shindig. That was the good part. The bad part is the lake is 5' lower than it was last time we were there. this left a LOT (MOST) of the cover dry on the banks... All and all Today was a real grind. with the Zebra mussels cutting line on anything you tried to drag across the bottom and the winds preventing you from throwing any finesse baits it was a crank kind of day. We caught a lot of fish but WE MADE A LOT OF CASTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1.0-1.5 was the best size and a shallow diver worked best. I tried a deep diver off and on all day but once it bounced off the bottom once or twice the line was nicked up and needed to be retied. Peter had the best day catching everything under the sun including, Drum, Perch, Walleye, Whites, Smallys, LMB & a Catfish The biggest lmb of the day went 16-17''? and I don't think we had a smallie over 15'.'

I'm heading to melvern in the morning. What crank were you using to catch those whites?I did good with a black/chart. 1.5 for smallies but I caught most of my whites on a Mepps.

How big do you think it was?

It is for a 24v and a starting battery. I'm thinking 6-6-4? Will this charge me up with an 8 hour turnaround?

Me and Wachati are going to fish together in his boat. How long do you want to fish for? I am thinking about battery life...we may need to bring a spare? ​I know we had some dead ones last time but it was a bit breezy that day.

Look at the way the scales line up on the fish on the top. The top 1.5'' of the scales are more in a row?

They were within 1/4# of each other in weight.

After some looking I don't this is the same fish as the fish in the bottom pic that I caught earlier this spring. I wonder how many other fish this size are in that pond?

My scales said it weighed less every time we weighed it. Peter's scales said 6.28# It almost made my golden rule disappear. It was around 22'' long

I told him as I was taking the pic to "hold it Big O style".

Yep now that I'm on my computer moniter it looks like a smallie. It does look like it has a big mouth though?

Nope that mouth looks large to me. The rest of it does look like a SM though.

I am looking for a good 3 bank battery charger. Does anyone have one or have a recommendation on what one to get? Ebay has a Minn Kota 3 bank for $125. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

The veritas is a great rod and if you have a problem it has a full warrenty. For 3 years? Or is it 1 year?

I tried to compare the pic's back on page 38 but I cant tell if its the same fish.

Me and Peter went to the state lake this morning. To start the day he whooped me from the back of the boat catching 5 fish as soon as he got in the boat to my ZERO! We made our way to another spot on the lake and I started catching a few fish and was trying to make a comeback. He ended up catching this fish and I told him let me get a pic of that it may be the fish of the day! That picture cracks me up. it makes it look like a one pound dink... it was actually a nice fish Worthy of a picture . Anyhow it was a typical day at the state lake, once it hit 9am the fishing shut OFF! I finally told him alright I'm going to get the big rod with the big jig and stop trying to just get a bite . After a couple of casts I drug my jig off a ledge and got a bite. I knew something seemed different this one was peeling line out? Afew seconds later it jumped out of the water and I herd Peter with the quote of the day= " WHO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,do you have a net?" She played along and went into the boat with no problems. I'll try to look at my pictures but I think this may be the fish I caught earlier this spring.
