I wouldn't get caught up with balance. To me it's almost irrelevant. If I'm casting or reeling I it will never balance. It will only truly balance while dead sticking.
That said if your looking at St Croix the LTB is more tip heavy than the extreme
I'd find a nice 7'ML rod and call it a day!
I'm going to back peddle on this a bit have you looked at the Speed Spin? It has an extra spool that's super shallow and designed for braid.
You may be able to get the 2500-300 size that will feel like your other reels and use the braid spool without backing.
I don't think any of the other Lews reels have an extra spool but correct me if I'm wrong?
