  1. I don't think you understood what I was trying to say. I was trying to say that if someone recommends an expensive rod that they explain to me what makes that rod worth the money. I ended up buying a low-mid range rod. To me I think it will be fine for no more than I use a swimbait.
  2. BTW, it's a Phenix M1 Swimbait Casting Rod 8' Med Hvy with a BB2 on it spooled with 20# Red Label.
  3. That beautiful big Brown truck just left my house! It looks like a nice rod and it's definitely not a broomstick. It has plenary of tip and should load nicely.
  4. I'm building a new AR and I am chambering it in 300 Blackout, is anyone familiar with this caliber and have any advise on load data?
  5. I think it will work fine, it's pretty hard to cast 100 yds lol. I was looking at them but got a great deal on a used BB2
  6. Ask him if he knows Tom Doherty.
  7. Simple fix, stop mowing
  8. I fished Lacygne for a few hours Sunday morning. I caught a couple decent fish but not what I was looking for. I got a 18,1/4" and a 17,3/4" I have no idea what they weighed they weren't big enough for me to get the scales out. I also caught 3 Flathead including this one that went 8.8# All 3 cats had Louse Btw the first 2 pics are the same fish
  9. Depending on the amount of casts you make and the number of fish you catch it could take a few outings. Sunday I had a weird brake off in the spool after a long cast using 20# Tatsu. I respooled 20# Red label on the boat and fished for a couple more hours and it's not nearly broken in yet. KVD L&L helps dramatically but I feel it also makes the line stretchier so I stopped using it on my Jig rods.
  10. Keep using it it needs broken in. No one likes new FC.
  11. Do you have this rod? I think I'm going to get one but I don't know if I want the Heavy or the MH? The MH does 1/2-3 oz and the H is rated at 1-6. As of now the baits I'll throw the most are 2oz This is what I'm wanting to throw. Hardgill Huddleson 68 5" Bull Shad I-slide Phenix M1 Swimbait Casting Rod 8' Med Hvy
  12. It must be magical If it will load and throw a 1/2oz and a 8 ounce bait lolI looked at the 7'10 Destroyer, it's telescopic and that would be handy but then again I'm not sure I'm sold on a $570 telescopic rod. The main things I'm looking for are a nice long handle and a blank that loads good throwing 2-3oz baits As of now I'm looking at Okuma Dobyns Phoenix
  13. I'm looking for a new swimbait rod for 2-3oz swimbaits. Any recommendations? I don't really have a price range if you can justify to me why I need the rod you recommend.
  14. Another question (no offense) are you actually timing this or guessing? Sorry, had to ask. Honestly you may need to keep the wells empty and fuel tank at 1/4 tank or under and carry a light load to get any performance out of that boat. I have a 186 Triton with a 150 and I know anything I put in it (fuel...) will slow it down in every way.
  15. Nope, I built a Alcahol RM 250 and looped it and broke my tailbone. figured out I was toooo old for that stuff. Back in the day I built a big bore extended Nitrous ZX11 with a 8.5" slick Then I got arrested a couple times riding wheelies down the highway on my 929 and after some jail time I realized I was toooo old for that I've got a boat now:-/ And kids
  16. Me and Sizzle went to Melvern Today, Man that lake is full of dinks. Anyhow, pics of our fish
  17. Wow, that's a nice one!
  18. I have a rubber coated net, it's the best of both worlds.
