    It's no that stiff. I may end up using braid for better hook sets. If I ever get rid of my other Christmas present (101* fever) I'll get it to my other rods to compare it to them.

    I just got a 7'1"MHF to fish them. I wanted something around 7'3" but I got a deal I couldn't pass up. Hopefully it's not another noodle rod! Lol

    My least expensive combo is this Duckett rod with a Speed Spin reel spoiled with 15# generic braid. The entire rig including bait was under $150! Ironically the fish didn't care.

    No way I'm going shopping this close to Christmas! Today was bad enough, I had to wait in line 30 minutes to buy a new IPhone and then I went to the local butcher shop only to be treated by a line of cars out the parking lot waiting for someone to leave just to get parked! Rant over, carry on.

    I'm curious, how'd you fillet them and get the bones out? Fried Trout is the only way I can eat that ,,,,,, stuff, but by the time I cleaned it and boned it I had wasted a ton of meat.
