  1. So I have this something like 7 acre pond I fish at for bass, and I had noticed an abundance of bluegill beds, BUT I never see any bluegill hanging around. I can't see bluegill just leaving their eggs, they normally leave one parent at each bed. Where could they be?
  2. There are so many ways to use the craw! For jigs there are two ways, you can either keep it the same length for a bulk size or sometimes I trim it down for a more compact presentation (getting ready to buy the chunks so that i am not wasting them!!). I also t-rig it and move it along like a craw swimming away, so in that case you would twitch it twice so that it looks like its kicking let it sit for a second and repeat. and unlike most people when I rage rig a craw I use it to flip and pitch.
  3. Me and Dad made the 2 1/2 hour trip to the maumee for the walleye run. We must have got there too late because we didn't catch a thing and from what we heard the fishing was awesome in the morning. We normally go 2-3 times a year, if you around the midwest I strongly encourage you to go. right now is about the best time, the walleye are moving in from Erie to spawn. We have had some great catches out of it, and some like yesterday where you don't catch a thing. But no matter what getting away for the day, the road trip, and just the quality time with the old man are all worth it! The fishing is just a bonus!
  4. Now that I have a rod picked out (7' MH St. Croix Mojo) I need help choosing a reels, I went on TWH and found a few reels in my price range. This reel needs to be able to handle 3/8 oz jigs and plastics. I'm hoping if I give you guys the list you can give me some help! Thanks! Abu Garcia Black Max Abu Garcia Silver Max Daiwa Laguna Quantum Antix Shimano Caius
  5. Normally the only jigs I thow are 3/8 oz and the plastics... well they're plastics. mostly texas rigged.
  6. Looking for a baitcaster that can handle throwing jigs and plastics. I heard some casters have trouble throwing lighter equipment. Is there any truth to this?
  7. Looking to buy two new rods, one will be a caster the other a spinning rod. Both will be St. Croix, my dad has always used them and he passed down that confidence in St. Croix to me. I am only trying to decide which series to get, I have narrowed it down to the mojo series and the triumph series.I have heard a lot of good things about the mojo series and they seem to be good rods and are affordable. On the other hand my ultra-light is a triumph and I love it. What do yall thank?
  8. Oh yeah I have caught fish with all of them! I'm just looking to add more to my WBD
  9. I am looking for some more cranks/ rat-L traps but I need some suggestions. So far I have a Red eye Shad, Aruku Shad, KVD 1.5, Spro MD, and a few cotton cordell's. do any of you have any suggestions to add to the lineup? thanks!
  10. So yesterday was my first out to my 20 acre pond honey hole. I was fishing from shore (trailer isn't plated yet) and had a blast! I started somewhere around 6 and started with a small rapala minnow so that i could work it slow. I was fishing into the wind guessing that the bass would be waiting for smaller forage to float that way. They wanted nothing to do with that minnow. So I grabbed my cranking set up and put on a KVD square bill 1.5... that was the game changer. I was able to work it slow enough, and their fat so it looked like a nice meal. I walked maybe 20 yards of shore within an hour and a half and was able to catch 8 largemouth all within the 3-4 possible 5 pound range. So needless to say i had a good time. And saturday me, my dad, and uncle are going out to Story Lake to do some crappie fishing. But you know, might bring along the cranking set up w/ KVD 1.5 and do a little bass fishing!
  11. So I know my bass to bait fish population is bad, meaning in our pond we have more bass than bait fish because all of our bass are underweight, and also the bait fish in our pond are small sunfish. So I was wondering, is there a way to mark bass so i can catch them, weigh them, and measure them and write it down and then mark them incase I catch the same bass again I dont write it down? I want to see the info and decide how many bass I should take out.
  12. Hye guys, I do not know what size hooks to get for these plastics, some help would be awesome! Zoom Tiny Brush hog Rage Tail 10'' Anaconda Rage Tail Craw Zoom Fluke Sweet Beaver
  13. You can try a shallow and medium lipped crank bait. As for shallow I love my KVD 1.5, great action. and for medium I like the Spro Little John MD.
  14. You Need JJ's Magic
  15. Put in a good sized order for plastics I have never fished with before. I think I should be able to get good results out of these: 10" Rage Tail Anaconda Green Pumpkin (1) Watermelon Red Flake (1) Rage Craw Green Pumpkin (1) Summer Craw (1) Zoom Fluke Baby Bass (1) Smokin Shad (1) Sweet Beaver Green Pumpkin Magic (1) Green Pumpkin Watermelon (1) Watermelon (1) Zoom Tiny Brush hog Green Pumpkin (1) Watermelon Seed (1) JJ's Magic Clear (1) I havent bought any terminal tackle for them yet. Thats something I like to wait until I get the plastics and go Gander Mtn. and eye ball it.
