well here we go topwater lures(plugs/frogs),jigs, soft plastic worms/lizards ,spinnersbaits,crankbaits. all can fish in 2ft of water and up. With the jig being the most verstaile bait IMO. i would say start out with 4 inch curly-tail grubs on 1/16 to 1/8 jig heads....... my first bass came off a tube jig dark green chartuese tentacles.......then i started with jigs and small jerkbaits that dive to 5ft of water or so. to make it simple just throw the jig in the water and reel it in as slow as possible but steady....

well they were $3.75 at dicks now they 2 for $5 just like the yum LPT series(yums old formula soft plastics). anyway i bought some awhile back and i had luck with the duece as a jig trailer......caught 1 fish, lost one at the bank, lost some more and atleast two hawgs.

thanx thats what i meant....... so with just di/2d sonar......ill not be able to see structure/bait fish/bottom contour on side of me(left and right sides of the boat)?

thanx.....but im pretty set on the track 1536.....it the cheapest i seen for the lenght and all. i just need some cheap necesities(gas motor,trolling motor, and depht finder with di/si/sc)

if your drag is set to tight your line will pop when you set hook.....almost instantly

so im finally about to buy my first boat, a jonboat, made by tracker(topper 1536). Well after i purchased the boat the next tasks for me are to buy some decent electronics with DI/SI(hummingbird 500 or better series), a small gas motor(like 10hp), and nice trolling motor with auto pilot and or a system for trolling for rockfish and etc(minn kota). im just wondering with the jon boat i want what would yalls cheapest setup for bass fishing and trolling/drifting would be(which motors and electronics would you use for a topper 1536)? i know the boat isnt ideally what you would want for bass but its the best for me, i think. thank you
