  1. See that's the exact opposite for me I can do so much with spinning rods where bc I can do the basics ha
  2. Thank you so much! Looks like I'll stick with 8# can't wait to try it out.
  3. So I just read the article about it and was wondering with how thin it is and all that. Right now I run an 8# fc leader (red label) and was wondering if it's a lot thinner then red label would I benefit from upping the size? Or sticking with 8#?
  4. Dang that is a beautiful set up.
  5. Agree wtb everyone else I look for the slack water and seams and other things and will cast up stream and drift it into those areas. Also don't count out a light weight wacky rig. Drifting it seems to get crushed along with weightless stick baits. Also can't go wrong with tubes and spinner baits. At least in the river and creeks I fish those are my go to tactics
  6. Yeah I mean the biggest plus side for me is the price tag ha
  7. Hmm that's a good read it would be more for bottom contact presentation light tubes neko neds and maybe the random light top water like the baby torpedo and the like. I'll have to check out the whipsnake
  8. That's where I saw it and even though it's a 2017? Model I like the price ha not to mention the length action and power
  9. Hey guys so I was wondering if anyone has an experience with the mega bass jdm orochi xxx specifically the jade python rod? I know it's slightly older but the price tag is what really draws me. I was curious how it would match up to other brands in that 250 range.
  10. Yeah I do the same I'll wade a ways with my gear until I find a safe spot to lay it down.
  11. Yeah I.missed out I scoured the clearance section last night heavily. Also the main fishing area. Sadly looks like most of the good stuff is gone ha.
  12. **** I migjt have to check my wally world out I did snag some Berkley fusion weedless wacky hooks for a 1.15 a pack
  13. Yeah it was the exact same reel. I agree with longer rod the reason for the length is due to wading and fishing smaller creeks etc. I might give it another shot and see I really wanna like dobyns
  14. So today on a total wimb I bought a dobyns fury 662 spinning rod. I tried it out today and to me it feels dead. I was dragging a 1/8oz tube insert and other finesse stuff and there was times i was dragging and I couldn't really feel the rocks it was bumping into. So I swapped to my 6'8 Mojo bass and same bait and I felt rocks. So my question is do I upgrade to a Sierra or stick with mojo bass? I know they're not exact same price but I'm curios if the extra cost of the Sierra is worth it or just grab a 6'10 ml mojo spinning rod.
  15. What rod are you using for a true multi purpose rod? I'm on the hunt for a new one and would like a good multi purpose rod.
  16. I've done that along with the try to hold rod above water and do a weird one arm doggy paddle
  17. How do you carry the other one?
  18. For me the areas I fish spinning rods are my go to since most of my presentations are finesse thag being said like others said there's a time and place for everything.
  19. Ok so I'm not going crazy I bought a dlt fishing fanny pack for my terminal soft plastics and a few hard baits and everything else I need. My issue was on my back cast always hitting the other rod or it getting in my way.
  20. Hey guys so it's more of a interest question. This time of the year the river and creeks are super low and clear. So wading becomes my go to. I try to go lightly with gear. Usually one spinning and one casting. I'll work top water and I'd no bites I'll usually leave behind the casting wirh my gear on the bank. I was wondering what everyone else does and if they do carry more then one rod how do you guys go about doing that?
  21. I thought so I've been following that thread pretty closely ha
  22. d**n I have a stradic k I was gonna put in it. Might have an excuse to buy a ci4 while they're on sale
  23. Yeah sorry the spinning rod. That's kinda what I want is a multipurpose finesse and reading the specs I figured it might fill that role rally well.
  24. Yes sir I am.
  25. Hey guys so I found a good deal on hardly used expride spinning rod. The guides cork and everything look good. Do my question guys who have the rod how do you like them?
