  1. Anyone do this? I have 7 rigs , 6 casters, 1 spinning, all with 10-65lb. braid. Honestly I've never uses anything other than braid. I don't necessarily have any issues but as I become more an more infatuated with fish year after year, it just kind of dawned on me the other day maybe be braid for everything isn't the best thing to do? What's your thoughts on this guy's?
  2. Same here...my fishing buddy use to use the o rings but I converted him...and after lots of trial and error we both come to the conclusion that the shrink tube and finish nails are just flat out better.

    Flukes

Anybody use braid when fishing flukes.
  4. So I'm looking to get a swimbait set up so I headed to Bps to put my hands on an ambassador 6501c3. As I'm looking at it the sales kid asks me what I intend on doing with it. So I explain to him I want a set up to throw big swimbaits, 2-10oz. And double as a light salt water rig for strippers. He then tells me I don't need that an I should be looking at something like a diawa lexa 300. An that there in No need for a reel that size an absolutely do Not need that much line to throw swimbaits. Now everything I've read here contradicts this, or am I wrong? Now I want to run 65lb braid so If the lexa 300 will hold 14/190-20/120 an the ambassador will do 12/320....did I miss something or is this kid just trying to sell me a $200 reel. What's everyones thoughts on this? Oh an would using a 6' something rod not be a good idea?
  5. I was going to ask this very question just the other day. With craws there's no issues but with a chunk im a bit confused as the op stated do you just put the hook through the chunky part? This just doesn't look right to me?
  6. that's funny.... an true...
  7. I'm honestly shocked at the replies. Are we talking weightless or weighted? I have a 7'3 MH that I would never throw a weightless Senko on ...would tear it to pieces... I'm like the only one who thinks its a broomstick. Definitely go with a M...imho.
  8. I got a 7'3 M/H an its heavier than the 3 H's I got .... yea it's a broomstick.
  9. Hahaha... That's exactly what I was looking at. Thinking 40lb braid... Thoughts on this?
  10. So after reading a thread here at BR and talkn to a couple of local fishermen last week, going on about swimbaits, naturally I start looking into it...whoo...I immediately come to the conclusion I need a swimbait rig..haha. Guys are catching serious weight on these things, well serious weight for up here in the Northeast anyway. So I'm not sure if I want to go out and get something that's going to be able to throw 8oz+ or start with say something in the 3-5oz range. Thoughts and suggestions please?
  11. Holy slobs....WooW Nice fish .... I need some swimbaits hahaha... Seriously thought where in mass are you? I'm from mass Right outside of Boston. You dont have to tell me your spot... I know how some guys get , but general area to put a fellow BR guy on some better fish living in the city would be Hugely appreciated. Those are quality fish man ...Nice work!
  12. Wow....that looks So nice...In the same boat... Only one fish so far but my best this season...5.33lb on a 1/2 blacknblue. I am so addicted to jigs right now. First three outings I only fished a jig to force myself to start learning. So Worth it...
  13. Hahaha... sorry that's just funny...proceed
  14. Would love to know this to! I also have one an love it...I haven't fished other reels but just from handling just about everything else in stores which I'm well aware that doesn't really tell you a lot but I'm confident in saying it's one of the better reels out there regardless of price...enjoy!
  15. Do you find a changes the action?
