  1. I usually catch a few in the spring at the ibay outlet bridge in the spring, but none yet this year. Wish we could fish around ginna...
  2. My first(and only) 5lb bass.
  3. My first 6lb bass happened to be a surprise smallmouth!
  4. WOW! What a great collection of photo's. Those Erie pigs have a beautifull pattern to them. And those walleye's aren't too shabby either...
  5. That is a great idea for a lure. Combines my 2nd and 3rd favorite ways to fish for bass. Hopefully they have some alternate colors when they roll them out?
  6. You would want to use 3M 5200 Marine sealant. You won't be sorry. Silicone will NOT hold up. You can get 5200 at Home Depot for the best price in a tube. Allow for cure time. Great stuff.
  7. Smallmouth in Mendon Ponds? As far as I knew none of them were deep enough. But I'd love to be wrong. I've only fished Hundred Acre and the deepest it gets is 7 fow.
  8. DANG! Look at the belly on that Silver pig!
  9. pm sent...
  10. It was on a square bill 1.5 in chartreuse sexy shad. Silent running original version. In water that shallow, I hold the rod tip way up and tilt down gradually as it comes in. Keeps the lure close to the bottom but not dragging. It is my go to color combination and I have it in every possible style. They have it in a rattle version now but that was not enticing strikes, despite very murky water. This fish was caught in the central NY region, and it was NOT Oneida. Thanks guys for the comments. I may never nab another smallie in my lifetime like this!
  11. If you can, I'd research Lake Erie(one of the Great Lakes) and where it would make sense to stop along the way. Some MONSTER smallmouth fishing in that lake.
  12. Caught this beast this morning with a KVD in 3 feet of water. I was certain it had to be a LMB but it surfaced with headshakes 3 times and looked really dark. It was too heavy to actually go airborne. I have caught a few smallmouth in this area before, but nothing like this. This is not a great lakes SMB. Revived and released after photos, but I have to admit, I really wanted it for the wall. Couldn't find my digital but it was straight pegged on my analog scale at 6 lbs.
  13. trolling for chinook salmon and steelhead in 150-400 fow. cant believe how lucky i am to live here.
  14. not to sound rude, but you'll hear fishing is "slow" from the guys that don't know how to evolve with the seasons or know where to find them. you aren't having that problem because you have it figured out.
  15. if i go 2 hours without a bite, i'm not hanging around because it just isn't going to turn on. so 4 hours is out of the question. i consider a slow day 1 fish per hour. had plenty of those...
