  1. Also if you fish in Borderland or New Pond it might be best to hook up with a Texas style rig. There are a lot of Lilly pads out there.
  2. Near Easton? Try IN Easton. Puds pond and also Leach Pond are excellent. You can reach them both through Borderland State Park. I caught a nice Large mouth in Leach pond this past weekend. I live down the street so it's excellent. I tried New Pond last week but not too much was happening that particular day. Also there are some great places in Norton and also Foxboro. Right now i'm using 5 inch senkos on a wacky rig and hitting some good stuff.
  3. My names Shawn (obviously from the user name haha) I'm from Massachusetts just south of Boston and recently got more into fishing. I use to fish a lot as a kid but kind of stopped having the time to go. A friend rekindled the love for reeling in a nice bass. For a while I've used a Shakespeare Spinning combo I got as a kit from an uncle. I like the reel but the rod is flimsy and never ventured into "bobberless" styles until recently. Last weekend I picked up my first Baitcaster from the local Bass Pro and it's a pain to learn but when it feels right it's one hell of a cast. Some backlash here and there but I'm slowing picking it up and understanding more of this "educated thumb" mumbo jumbo haha. Luckily I have had a good friend help me with the massive birds nest I've created on occasions. With that I'm using a 20 pound power pro braid. Caught my first bass with it on the second day at around 15/16 inches (with a Wacky rig and Senkos) only catch of the day but it was worth it. It's good fun and I'm glad to be enjoying it again.
  4. I've been looking around but couldn't find anything fairly instructive on this on. I grabbed two packs of leaches from Gulp to test out on the ponds here (we have a few in the water where I fish) but not really sure how to rig it up. I have 3" and also 5" so I was thinking a Texas style rig for a 5" and just threading the head for the 3" with a small weight to sink them. I'm pretty new to fishing in general and have had some great success catching a few large mouth with a Wacky-rig and some senkos. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
