The VA bass club I'm joining is in the midst of trying to decide if they should keep affiliation with FLW or switch over to BASS. Since I've just joined the club (first meeting was last night) I really don't know enough about the issue to make an informed decision. Anything you members can tell me about FLW vs. BASS would be helpful.
My Bass Stalker doesn't have live well or lights, etc but the price is only $449. Here's the web site if your interested. I spent just about a grand total for boat, trolling motor, battery, charger, everything and it's been well worth it.

I have a 9' 6" Bass Hunter Stalker boat. Fits great in the back of my Town & Country and VERY stable. I fell out reaching for a rod I "accidently" kicked overboard; boat never even tipped. Even managed in climb back in without rocking the boat. Mine doesn't have the decks but don't think that'll matter much in the stability factor.
If you want to get info on strictly bass fishing plus alot of info on tournments then BassMaster mag is the one for you. If you want more general freshwater fishing info (bass, catfish, bream, etc) then In Fisherman.
I've been subscribing to In-Fisherman for about 5 years. It seems to have all the articles you're asking for and I strongly recommend it. They do have articles about ALL types of freshwater fishing not just bass.
I've found most guides "teach" as well as guide but it's better to ask them before hand so they know what your expectations are. If you tell him that you're more interested in learning a specific technique even if that means fewer fish most will work with you but they have to know what you want. You're paying them for a service and most guides live and die by word of mouth so if they provide you the service you want, you'll tell your buddies what a great job the guide did; they'll hire the guide (or tell somebody else).
