  1. Agree!
  2. Check out Fitt Lures. Micro Predator Craw and Willie Wanna Be are perfect for those size jigs.
  3. Another vote for GP. In my circle of fishing buddies no one ever talks of throwing watermelon. Now that could mean two things; they don't throw it or it's their secret color.... fishermen... go figure
  4. Tubes. I've thrown everything for smallmouth over the years and done well. Buddy of mine has always fished tubes so I figured I'd try them. Always throw them now.
  5. I enjoy using it to take pieces/parts of plastics and come up with my own designs as well as repairing them.
  6. Bought some $1.00 spinnerbaits from Walmart. Cut the wires, looped remaining wire in front of the head, added a weedguard. Coated head with Hard as Nails. We'll see if they'll work. Passing time this winter......
  7. They ain't in stock no mo!
  8. Rutter's hair jigs. 1/8 or 1/4 ounce, several colors, $22/dozen. On FB
  9. Great post, thanks for the detail in the pics!
  10. Here's an option https://www.berniesriverstick.com/
  11. Bunch of river jet jons running stick steer and throttle but from the front seat for better view of the river. These are usually 25HP and up. If you're running a 9.9 from the back seat, as long as weight distribution in the boat is good, you should be fine. Bit of a learning curve so don't gag it on the first trip! ?
  12. We float the river as a family. Quiet, peaceful, drift along with slow current. Wife asks what to throw so I tell her a Zoom fat albert grub, case beaver, fat baby craw, all on a split shot rig. I'm over here throwing everything I own and she's wearing me out. That's fine, she's happy and fishing and it gives me a chance to see what else might be working.
  13. Thanks! The smallest EWG I've ever used is a 1/0, didn't know they made them smaller in EWG. You don't know what you don't know. Thanks again for sharing, gonna get me some.
  14. Could you post a pic of the TRD with the 2 EWG?
  15. Snagler Tackle makes tube jigs for 2.5" tubes, 1/0 hook. http://www.snaglertackle.com/Tube-Lead-Heads_c31.htm
  16. Yes. I fish this color in Zoom grubs and Case beavers (lil sweet pea) in stained water for smallies. Guys laugh when I tie it on then want to know later if they can have one.
  17. @Mobasser, I'm kinda like you. I have a half dozen or so techniques I use and I stick with them. I'll try new bait colors or sizes within those techniques if something catches my eye or buddies have done well on a particular one.
  18. Tool was originally created as a Nasal Speculum. You can pick one up on Amazon for $12.50
  19. Apparently they are still quite popular. Checked several online tackle shops and they are low in stock or out of stock till Feb. Never fished them but might have to add to my "give it a try" list
  20. Try? In my neck of the woods that supply is called "all in"! Tight lines!
  21. Putting weed guards on some hair jigs. Hope to get them wet soon.
  22. @Jigfishn10 I assume you fill the hollow tube with a plastic worm to give bite to the hook shank to hold it in place on the spinnerbait?
  23. Would have never crossed my mind. Gonna have to try this.
