  1. I saw a video and read an article recently where he said he uses Shimano and Daiwa but has no reel sponsor because of his Megabass rod sponsor. Most reel manufacturers want you to use their rods then to so he doesn't have a deal.
  2. What makes the 50E better than the 200E?
  3. I just bought a 7' 1" M F St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass rod. I'm having a hard time deciding what reel to put on it. The two I'm looking at are the Abu Garcia REVO STX Gen 3 or Shimano Chronarch 200E. I'm planning on using this rod for mainly plastics. Senko's, tubes, grubs, worms, small jigs, and small spinners are what I'm thinking. I've always liked Shimano but the Abu Garcia has better on paper specs. I haven't ever fished with a high end Abu Garcia so I wanted to see what everyone on heres opinion is of the two.
  4. I'm somewhat mixed. I've got Shimano reels but different rods. St. Croix, Dobyns, and Powell right now.
  5. I'm looking to get my first pair of Costa's, and am wondering what color lenses everyone is using. Their main purpose is for sight fishing but I'll probably wear them for other things to like driving. I want the best color for sight fishing though. I've done some searches but want to get some current opinions. If you could vote in the poll and then tell me why that color I'd appreciate it.
  6. All Terrain Grassmaster is my favorite to. I'm gonna try some of the NorthStar jigs when they're back to shipping orders though because they have quite the following.
  7. I have a St. Croix sticker on my car window right now. I have a couple fishing shirts I wear once in awhile to. I don't feel a huge need to show it off. People who know me know I fish.
  8. I just ordered some XPS Fluoro for my baitcaster. I had InvizX last year and wasn't that impressed with it so I'm trying something different. I thought about going to braid but decided to try another brand fluoro first. If this isn't for me I'll probably make the switch to braid with a leader.
  9. I have limited experience with different rod companies but my favorite is St. Croix. The ones I own and have used have been great for me. I've never had to deal with customer service yet but the rods have been great. I also like G-Loomis and Dobyns.
  10. What color power pro is everyone using? I was thinking the aqua green because I fish mostly around vegetation.
  11. Good to hear there are quite a few other people using braid on most or all of their setups. I think the baitcaster is getting 30 lb braid with no leader and the spinning rod I might put a leader on but 10 lb braid for sure. Not sure yet on the leader. I have some flouro and mono around so I might give it a try. I'm not sold on the fish seeing the line. I think I'll go with Sufix 832 Ghost or Power Pro. They seem to be the popular choices. What's everyone else using for brand?
  12. I'm thinking of going to braid for everything and wanted to see how many other people are already doing this. I don't have many rods and reels and have been thinking of putting different lb braid on all of them. I have 2 poles that see most of my action. One is a spinning reel and the other a baitcaster. I use both as "do it all" rods. The spinning reel is a 6' 9" St. Croix Avid and the baitcaster is a 7' MH Dobyns Savvy. I had Seaguar InvizX on both last year and wasn't that happy with it. It had a lot of memory and I had line twist issues. No I didn't treat it with line conditioner. I just want to hear everyone's opinion on if braid would be a good choice.
  13. Deleting the history and cache worked, thanks for the tip!
  14. It's still not working in google chrome for me. I had to switch to firefox. Is that something that's going to get fixed to?
  15. I'm new to the forum and am looking for a little advice on my first baitcasting reel. I've wanted to try one now for a few years and finally decided to get one this summer. The two I'm really looking at are the BPS Pro Qualifier and Abu Garcia Revo SX. They're in different price ranges but that's part of my question. Would the Revo be something that would be easier to learn on or harder? If it would make learning easier I wouldn't mind spending the extra money but only if it will really help. I was also thinking I'd get either one in the 6.4:1 because I was told it would be the better all around ratio. Just trying to make sure that's true rather than going with the speed of the 7.1:1 ratio. Thanks in advance for the help.
