  1. Hey guys I know we've got quite a few members on here from the Memphis/Germantown/Collierville area. Figured I'd start a topic on the pond fishing around town. With work I haven't been able to get out of town to fish much so I've been pond hopping lately. Been to the pond behind chick fil a on germantwon pkwy a couple times this week and got some decent 2-3 pounders on a black/blue jig and rage chunk. So lets hear where you guys have been going and how your doing. Any ponds that are just producing great for yall right now? Also I might try and get out Saturday morning from about 6:30-10 if anyone wants to go. I can't pm yet so shoot me an email if you want ccl113@msstate.edu May try and go sunday morning too depending on my work schedule. Colton
  2. Hey guys, quick question. Thinking of heading down to pickwick this weekend and looking to see if anyone knows of somewhere to rent a fishing boat. I've got a 16 foot allumacraft but there's just not enough room for 3 of us and all I can find is pontoon rentals. If anyone has any good leads it would be appreciated. And while were on the topic anyone been down to pickwick lately? If so how'd it go?
  3. X3 for superline.. I was having the same problem but mostly with logs and rocks, not fish. I switched to the thicker superline and no problems thus far.
  4. Jj, appreciate the advice. I was thinking about using super glue but wasn't sure if it was a good idea, glad to hear it is and I will for sure give it a shot. And after I broke a cheap rod the same way I swore I would put them in the cab anytime I take them out of the boat.. But since I can't manage to remember, looks like rod savers are a good idea. Thanks again for the good advice. Seems like I can always count on BR when I have a question.
  5. Hey guys, did a quick search but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.. I made the dumb mistake of leaving my vendetta in the bed of my truck with a bunch of stuff floating around and went to use it and noticed a good chunk of the tip gone. It ended up breaking all the way to the second guide. I bought the repair kit from walmart but the glue they give you just isn't seeming to cut it for me. Anyone have a good tip for fixing it? Or should I just not mess with it anymore and take it to someone who knows what they're doing. Also, with that much of the rod breaking off will it compromise the strength of the entire rod? Probably a dumb question but figured I should ask. Sorry for the long post but I appreciate any advice you guys have.
  6. Hey guys, been lurking and reading for a couple of months now and decided I may as well join the forum. I've already read some of the wealth of knowledge and information here and am really amazed by it. Can't wait to read more and I look forward to learning from you guys.
