  1. what's up guys, quick update, caught my first 5 pounder a couple weekends ago, i walked out into the lake about waist deep and was casting it as far as i could, and WHAM, i knew it was huge cause of how heavy it was and i could barely reel it in, sweet, i used a t-rigged strike king soft plastic worm with a weight anyway, i'm thinkin about buying a 2person inflatable boat, so far i've only checked walmart and basspro online, the one that looks nice is a sevylor fish hunter, it's green and yellow, any opinions on a good inflatable boat?
  2. thanks for all the replies and advice, i went this morning for 4 hours, didn't have any luck but it was fun trying the new methods, i picked up a rebel pop-r from walmart and that was awesome, had a few hits on it, also used a texas rigged soft plastic worm for a while, then i tried a spinner bait for a while, wasn't totally sure how to use it, i basically just reeled it in slowly to avoid it sinking to the bottom, it was fun and i'm gonna keep trying, i enjoyed it more than catching 15 sunfish with real worms even though i didn't catch anything
  3. is the idea with the t-rigged worm to cast it out and let it sink to the bottom and slowely reel it in as if to crawl along the bottom, is there a decent worm brand or type to look for, and with the popper, i just watched a youtube video, you cast it out and it floats on the surface, then you just pull to make it pop, do you feel it's worth getting the scented spray for the worms or are they good enough on there own and when do you think plastic worms lose there luster because most of the stuff in my tackle box is old
  4. medway, you?, my main focus right now is learning all the different bait types and exactly how to use them so atleast i know i have a chance at catching a bass, instead of jest hoping, i'm thinking of trying soft plastics first, texas jig?, can you guys recommend a soft plastic, maybe a lizard or a worm, or whatever might be a good one to try, right now all i have is powerbait from walmart, but i can spend a little more money from bass pro shops on a higher quality one if the walmart ones are considered lackluster
  5. thanks for pointing out those articles
  6. i'll try to keep this short, 3 years ago i joined a golf forum, and now i know everything there is to possibly know about golf equipment, seriously, it's sickening, unfortunately, i'm starting from scratch when it comes to fishing, i don't know much at all, but that's why i'm here i've been fishing off an on my whole life, just with friend and my dad and such, never seriously, but this year for some reason i've developed a fishing bug, and other than golf it's all i want to do, i've gone 5 times already this year anyway, i've been using night crawlers, and i've caught 785 sunfish and 2 bass, but today i saw some dude catch a 5 pound bass, and i was pumped, and i said "that's what i want", so i don't mind if i don't catch anything as long as there's the chance of catching a nice bass, so now i'm researching different kinds of baits and lures and how to use them, i don't even know what a spinnerbait or a crankbait is or when or not to use a bobber lol, but i'll continue to due some research, anyway thanks for reading -brad
