  1. Same here, got to get there early if you want a spot. Very limited. Also, I've noticed NHF&G website shows that the canoe launch has a fee, which it doesn't. Not sure why they show that.
  2. Yes you still need a key. You have to contact the town of Derry and ask for a key to the locked gate on Escumbuit Road. The cost used to be $50 a year, but not sure if they still charge that price or if it's more now. The pond itself is stocked with brook, brown and rainbow trout. It also has Large and smallmouth bass, as well as pickerel, white perch, yellow perch, crappie, bullheads and sunfish. Hope this helps.
  3. I was checking that one out yesterday and will definitely be trying it. Also hoping to hit up stumpfield next week.
  4. Anyone have any luck over the years as well as this year in Nutts pond in Manchester? Just moved in November right near it and would like to try it but don't want to waste my time if it has nothing. I did notice how the pigs and addicts of Manchester pollute the place, so I was also concerned about that. Any information would be much appreciated.
  5. I've been out several times in the past 2 weeks and haven't seen any beds at all. Fishing seems to be really slow so far this spring. Not sure if it's the cold weather or all the rain. Hopefully we get some long term warmth soon to get the largemouth's going.
  6. Anyone been to Onway lately. Went there about 2 weeks ago and hooked into a few hawgs.
  7. One of the better spots for large bass is the Nashua river, but there are lots of other good places to fish. A few I can think of is, Massabesic in Auburn, Canobie lake in Salem, Powwow in Kingston, Baboosic lake in Amherst, Contoocook in Jafrey. These are some of the larger lakes/ponds in southern NH, but there are hundreds of smaller ponds that can produce large bass. Do what I do, grab a NH gazetteer and search. You'll be surprised at what a small pond/river can produce.
  8. I think the fishing has been slow because of the wind. I went out a few times while it was very windy and only hooked into dinky LMs.
  9. Didn't have a chance to post these when I caught them so here goes. Had a great day on one of my favorite small places. All LMs and one Pickerel.
  10. I agree 100%. Some of my biggest bass caught were out of small mill and beaver ponds.
  11. North of Lincoln on 93 you could hit Profile lake or Echo lake. Both very good trout ponds. You could also drive west on 112 for about 7 miles and hit Beaver pond. If you're willing to travel a bit further, drive north on 93 past Littleton,NH and hit up Moore Reservoir which is loaded with some huge bass (both SM and LM), trout and northern Pike.
  12. If your're using a boat off Claire's landing then head towards the weeds and fish near the mouth of the inlet to the right. Also try the small island scattered to the SW. I've had my best luck in those areas while others haven't caught a thing. Massabesic can be frustrating at times and your best friend other times. If you're shore fishing then I would move up the road north towards the inlet and fish near the bridge over at the 4 way as well as the small falls north of there. If you can, hit the other side on bypass 28 and fish wish the canoe launch is. I've had some great luck under the bridge. Walk about 1/4 mile down the trail near the canoe launch and you will come to a beach area where there is some good fishing as well. Hope this helps and good luck.
  13. No, but there is a canoe/kayak launch about 1 1/4 miles down the road going south.
  14. Anybody fish in or near the North Conway area at all and can give some tips on where to fish for Bass? I'm going up there in a few weeks to camp and would like to do some Bass fishing. I know all the trout spots but wanted to do some Bass fishing this year.
  15. Hi mebisho and welcome to the forum.I fish Massabesic all the time. Great place to fish and it has some big bass as well as brook, rainbow and brown trout. Although having a boat is the best bet to get the big fish or trout there is some pretty good shore fishing at some spots. You can launch at Clare's landing on 121 in Auburn with a boat and trailer or if you have something smaller like a canoe or kayak there is the Deerneck bridge cartop launch on bypass 28. There is also another place to launch with a boat and trailer at the Candia road boat launch not to far east from the rotary near the park entrance. For shore fishing there is a hundred places to try starting with the park on the bypass near the rotary. You can also walk a lot of the trails around the lake to find quiet areas to fish. Just remember that you can't step into the water or any part of your skin can touch it because the lake is drinking water for Manchester and other communities and run by Manchester water works. Other places to try around Lake Massabesic is little Massabesic on Raymond Rd in Auburn which is walk in only as well as Clark pond on Depot Rd in Auburn. Hope all this helps.
  16. Ahhh, I got ya. Near the sand and gravel pit. The only place I can see access to Pinnacle is at the end of Ardon. NHF&G actually has a map showing it has shore access only.
  17. That wouldn't happen to be Pinnacle pond would it? If so, I always wanted to try it out but never could find a way to it. How do you get to it if you don't mind me asking. If you don't want to give away any secrets I totally understand.
  18. Very nice looking LMB. The first and second one look much heavier than 4lbs.
  19. Had an awesome time yesterday morning fishing one of my favorite ponds. Caught one rainbow trout and 8 LMB. All bass were between 1-2.5lbs Found a pool where they just kept hitting. Crazy, never seen so many bass in one pool before.
  20. Hi, and welcome to the site. I know how you feel with the shore only fishing. I'm in the same boat (no pun intended). I have had great luck fishing from shore. My best advice would be to walk around the perimeter of any lake/pond you fish if possible. That way you can find the hot spots. Also try fishing under bridges where it can be deep and dark. I have also had great luck and caught some big bass fishing where a river/brook come into a lake/pond. Hope this helps.
  21. Had a pretty good day fishing for an hour at Massabesic. Caught three LMB, biggest at 4lbs, other two at 3 plus lbs.
  22. Got out yesterday morning at Massabesic and had a fair day catching 10 bass, mostly LM with a few SM. Most of them were small though around 1 - 1 1/2 lbs with the exception of a 2.5 lb I caught on none other than a darn rooster tail while fishing for trout...lol. Yes I was using a underspin rod n reel. It's my trout pole but when I couldn't hook into any trout I figured I go for bass and didn't have my bass pole with me..lol
