  1. Ah, thanks for the info. I always called them hammer handles.
  2. Bread balls and corn work well, like fishingkidpa said. I also have caught them on pieces of glazed donut, with frosted flake chum. They also sell carp dough bait, but I don't know if it works or not. I fish for them when I just want to sit back and relax, drink a few beers, and have fun.
  3. What is a slime dart?
  4. To get the prizes for the tagged fish, you need to sign up at Cabela's website under the fishing for millions thing. No I haven't been out bass fishing Joe. Work got in the way. Went to the local creek the fish commission stocked and caught a few rainbows. Going somewhere tomorrow, haven't decided where yet though.
  5. Cool, did you get that tagged one from Cabela's?
  6. Vancouver in 6.
  7. I guess I am a simple type when it comes to line, but I prefer just regular old Berkley Trilene mono in 10 or 17 lb, depending on the cover I'm fishing. It has broke, but it always was my fault(not checking for knicks or poor knot) I respool about once a month due to line memory, though I never used Reel Magic or any similar product until this season, so maybe I will spool less now. I have tried braid, didn't like it because it always felt like I was gonna rip the lure out of the fish's mouth when I set the hook. Never tried flouro, but knowing myself, I probably would hate it do to the knot tying having to be perfect and the stiffness.
  8. For what it is worth, I have caught plenty of bass, including my PB, with store bought steel leaders while pike and musky fishing. I use the 12 inch 30 lb ones.
  9. Good job. It is always nice to get one on a new technique for you.
  10. Nice fish. If I ever see a dead deer in the water, I know where to go, lol.
  11. Another Columbia River guy. Nice. Anyway, what kind of regs do they have on the Oregon side?
  12. Went to Weaver Falls Area today, and got skunked. Water was very high, fast and muddy. Also went up by the spillway, they were releasing water there, making that end very high as well. Not as bad as earlier in the year when I went down and Corbin's Island was underwater, but high and fast anyway.
  13. Don't know if Duman's Dam counts as Central PA or not, but I've been getting some good bass from there the last couple times out. My cousin went to Glendale and was tearing them up over there. 13 this morning. Going to try Raystown tomorrow down Saxton way where the river first starts backing up.
  14. Man, carp are fun to catch, they fight like hell. Good stuff.
  15. Nice fish you caught there. Good Job.
  16. Columbia River. I love that area of the country.
  17. I need one of those types. LOL
  18. If you are ever going to be in Altoona area, let me know.
  19. This is a little far east for me to go very often, but if I get down this way I'll give you a shout.
  20. Good stuff, he looks like good fisherman.
  21. on a soft plastic bait. A 4 inch blue senko weightless t-rig. According to the fish weight calculator on this site, it weighed 3.6 pounds. Just being on here a short time, I learned this technique. Hopefully, it keeps up and learn a whole lot more.

    Trap Shooting

I shoot in the local club league, average is how many birds on average you hit out of the 25 you shoot at.
  23. Black jitterbug or black and gold jointed rapala.
  24. I'm kind of both self taught and learned from my dad. My dad used to bass fish a lot, and learned a lot about crankbaits and topwaters from him. But other lures, like spinnerbaits, soft plastics, and jigs, I am learning from here, people I ask questions to, and random experimentation.

    Trap Shooting

Does anyone else here shoot trap? If so, what is your average. Mine is 17.5, but this is my first year doing it, so I'm not complaining. Also, if you do, do you use a actual trap gun or just your grouse/pheasant gun? I use a Baikal IZH 27 o/u I take grouse hunting.
