  1. Almost all my rods are shorter than 6 foot. I can't use those pistol grip rods though. Can't hit the broad side of a barn with them, and thhey are uncomfortable to me.
  2. Looks kind of like a sheephead to me. I don't know what the real name of them are, sorry.
  3. Sketchers. Most comfortable shoes I ever owned.
  4. Navy Gunner from 1998-2004. Stationed at Great Lakes, San Diego, Everett, Washington and Sasebo Japan. Visited Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Curacao, Aruba, Mexico, Canada, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Guam.
  5. Glendale was on while the rain was falling. Catching 11-15 inch bass in 1-3 ft of water by fallen trees on a Rapala Fat DT1 in Crawdad color.
  6. Nice pike.
  7. Fished the Juniata today, stopped at holes from the spillway to the point. The smallmouth weren't cooperating, but the rock bass were. Caught 6 decent rock bass between 7-9 inches on Yamamoto Fat Baby Craws. Also caught a carp on them.
  8. Not a worm, but I just caught one today on a plastic crawdad on a jighead. First carp I ever caught on something besides live bait or doughballs/corn/other weird carp type bait.
  9. These work great. I just got a new pair of perscription glasses, and got the ones with the magnetic clipons. They came with a grey polarized clip on lens, ran about 150.
  10. I never had a problem finding people to fish with when I was younger. My dad bass fished with alot, and my friends both fished and hunted. Nowadays, totally different story. My dad doesn't fish too much anymore, and my friends either moved or quit. I also grew up in very rural part of Pennsylvania. They used to give us off school for the first day of deer season because they figured everyone would skip anyway.
  11. Congrats Boston fans. Have fun celebrating, I sure as heck did a couple of years ago when the Pens won.
  12. From the spillway to the point or Newton Hamilton. Those are the areas I fish mostly.
  13. Nah, you will be buying me one, lol. I got my spot, just need a real hot and humid day like we had a couple weeks ago. Bass at my spot go crazy for topwater on days like that.
  14. I use the Trilene XT(I think that is what it is called), the abrasion resistant stuff. Never had any problems with it. It still gets nicked up, but I guess any line will over time.
  15. I fish in an area with shad balling all over, and have done well throwing spoons, shad patterned cranks, white or white/red spinners with dual willow leaf blades, poppers and white jitterbugs. Throwing my lure past the ball and retrieveing it into the ball has worked well for me.
  16. I guess this isn't Central Pa, but had a good day on Crooked Creek today. Caught a bunch on spoons and shad patterned Rattle Trap.
  17. I haven't caught anything on topwater yet. Same problem as everyone else, just boils behind, then catching them on followup lures.
  18. Has anyone been on the Juniata lately? Thinking about going down either this weekend or the opener, was wondering if it was still real high, or if it came back to normal.
  19. I have seen the curly tail grubs in a 25 pack or something similar, but that is all. The Senko knockoffs are on sale a 5 pack for like a buck or something at my local Gander Mtn.
  20. As others have said, Black Jitterbugs work very well, either one piece or two piece, caught them on both. Another one is a jointed Rapala, J11. Black and gold have worked well for me.
  21. I was at Canoe Creek Saturday and caught one straight across from the dock by the stumps on a lily pad edge. Tried fishing the stumps some, it is a mess. Weeds matting real bad. I hope they don't bluestone it right before your tourney, lol.
  22. First off, I'm not sure if this belongs here or the other fish board, so please move if in wrong spot. Anyway, I was watching WJAC news and the lady started talking about snakeheads caught in Glendale Lake. Then she started talking about bowfin and how they look similar. So I was confused as to whether they actually caught snakeheads in Glendale or not. Did anybody else see this, and if they did, please shed some light on what this report was actually saying. Thanks. EDIT: I seen the report again, it was someone who mistook a bowfin for a snakehead. They had pictures of a snakehead with Not In Glendale in big letters over top of it. It was just explaining how to tell the difference and to let a park ranger know if you catch a snakehead.
  23. Mono for just about everything. Don't really like braid. Never tried flouro, all the line maintenance issues sound like a nightmare to me.
  24. Went to Canoe Creek today, caught a 14 incher. Wasn't a great day, but I spent it trying different soft plastic techniques, which I am woefully inadequate at currently. Figure trying and learning this stuff will pay off in the future. Staying off crankbaits until the opener.
  25. Jointed Rapala- Anywhere near stumps or weeds. Any colors will work, I have done best with the black and gold ones and perch patterned. Jitterbug- Stumps and weeds. Black has been my best color. Best nighttime lure. Spoons- Deeper weedbeds. Five of Diamonds and Red/White Daredevils(same ones people recommend for pike).
