  1. Right now I go there just because its so close to my house....as the summer roles on I am going to expand my horizons. I was getting enough nibbles to want to go back and try some more with different bait. If I catch anything I will post it up. Thanks everyone for the advice. Its much appreciated.
  2. New to the Forum and pretty new to fishing. I've gotten some good tips so far but has anyone fished lake accotink or any other lakes in NOVA and can give me some tips.
  3. Hey everyone, I am brand new here and I hope I am posting in the right part of the forum. Other than fishing on occasion when I was younger I've never really fished much. On a whim I bought a pretty nice rod and reel at a yard sale. So a couple buddies and I have gone out a few times fishing with no luck at all. Just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on finally landing a fish. Here is the fishing notes link to the lake we have been fishing at to give you some idea of whats in the lake. http://www.fishingnotes.com/lakeinfo.php?id=31082 The park is pretty heavily wooded with trees going up to the shore. We fish off of the shore. Right now I am using some rubbery bait for kmart with a bobber on the line because the 1st time I went out the hook kept dragging and getting caught on the drift wood around shore and sadly I lost a fair amount of hooks and bait. What sort of bait should we be using and any type of casting style should we be using? This may all be long winded so I am sorry but I want to give you guys as much info as possible so you can help. I'm glad to be a part of this forum and thanks for helping out!
