  1. We're farther up between cedar and bee creek in Kirbyville. All the launches are underwater. I appreciate the advice from everyone. We managed to catch 5 yesterday on the very back end of the narrowest creeks we could find. The bottom had to primarily be gravel and water temp above 57. That seemed to be the formula. I might get one more chance to go out for a few hours tonight. I'll post some pics if I hook a good'n.
  2. Jiggin'- I really appreciate it man! I got one more day here to grind it and try to figure em out. I believe my brother has one of those maps. I'll study it in the mornin and hopefully turn things around. Thanks again for the detailed feedback!
  3. Is there any guys on here that have some solid experience fishing Bull Shoals? My brother has lived on the the lake for close to 3 years and we are yet to figure it out. It baffels me. I'm from the Midwest and have fished some tough lakes but this is one of the only lakes where I've been skunked on more then one occasion. Some days we really get a pattern dialed in. But it's like it changes over night. I realize it's a flood control lake, so the water fluctuation is constantly changing things. But it shouldn't be this hard. The water temps got up around 58 degrees today. Shouldn't they be moving up to the creek channels? Any advice from some of you that know this lake would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, LP
  4. Hey everybody, I try to research as much as I can on my own. But I don't have the time to do this much research at the moment because of work. Anyways, Dicks's Sporting Goods has a pretty dang good sale right now: Buy one Rod, get one 50% off. Loomis and St. Croix are excluded (Of Course). Im not necessarily in the market for two rods, as I really just need a new flippin' stick. But two is better then one. I'm a diehard Croix guy so I'm really not sure what else I'd really like. Played around with the Abu Veritas but not totally in love with them. I'd like some suggestions on a good mid range ($100+) brand of rods. Duckett, Abu, Shimano, etc...? Thanks, Luke
  5. I love my heavy cover model. It's extremely sensitive and my main uses for it are deep Texas rigs and flippin. It casts very far with ease but im not sure about using it for spinners. I used it for a 6 inch paddletail the other day and it handled nice for the hooksets.
  6. No the quarry has been shut down for the last 10 years. Id love to take some time to manage it but they won't let me put a boat in so honestly all I use it for is lure testing at this point. Even though that doesn't really do me any good cuz the bass are so hungry they'll eat anything.
  7. Haha I had a gill on a bed try to take my bronzeye 65 down yesterday!
  8. Nice fish! What's the name of that SB? I don't think I've ever seen it.
  9. Glenn, I'm a rambler! Haha. I'm somewhat involved in the country music scene in Nashville so I'm back and forth from month to month. I live in Illinois with my ma but when I have a show it writing to go to, I stay with my family down there too. I'll eventually be livin down there for good in the next 2 years.
  10. I fish green Pline with all my flouro set ups in crystal clear waters and have never caught any less fish then my partner who fishes clear. Go for it!
  11. What a joke. If you cant say anything nice then dadgum; don't say nothin at all.
  12. I'be had access to fish a private quarry here in northern Illinois for the past few years. There's only one other guy that fishes it and all he does is panfish. This spot is loaded with bass and I usually have a 100 plus day everytime I'm out. The quarry is 25 ft at the deepest spot (i know this through ice fishing and doin extensive search with a vexilar.) I have a theory and wanna know what you guys think about it. My biggest fish was a 6 pound female I caught on a bed this spring but other than that every fish I catch is almost identical weighing 2-2.5 lbs. I've used 10 in. Worms, swimbaits etc... But no matter what I just end up with the ol average bass. I came to the conclusion that because this lake is so abundent with bass that they have possibly become stunted. The bass outnumber the panfish 10-1 and there are no baitfish in these waters. Also there really isn't an abundance of vegetation either. I've caught 15 pound blue cats and 30 inch northern out here but only one bass over 5lbs. This is an 80 acre lake. Sorry to rant I'm just frustrated.
  13. Not to hijack here but does anyone use there flippin stick for froggin?

  16. Thanks Clayton!

  20. Hey guys im gonna post this link from craigslist. I talked to this guy and he told me he'd take $5500 for it. I havent seen it in person, but assuming the transom looks good and she runs good, should i jump on this. I've heard the older tidecrafts were poorly made but im just sittin here thinkin, that motor is probably worth 5k. Some opinions or insights would be great guys! Thanks. http://peoria.craigslist.org/boa/2398300134.html
  21. Hey yall. Had a couple quick questions for some Tenn. angles near the Nashville area. I'm ready to start fishin tourneys since I now have my own boat to do so. Are most tourneys around here hosted by clubs? And if so do you need to be a member to fish the tourneys? What are the best Tenn. Bass clubs to join? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just ready to do this, now that I'm outta school and have the experience.
