  1. I haven't caught the same fish twice (that I know of)...however, I was on the New River fishin a small chartreuse crank bait and thought I landed a pig of a small mouth, but it turns out that 2 smallmouths (10 inches each) had struck at the same time, and had hooked up on each of the 2 individual treble hooks. Nothing feels weirder than fighting 2 smallies on the same line.
  2. Gentlemen: The Christmas season will soon be upon us, and I'd like to try and get away with a sit-on-top kayak for fishin the rivers/lakes down here in the southeast. Can I get a few recommendations for good brands/models to look for?
  3. Thanks for all the great ideas. After some research of my own and the input of a lot of you guys, I want to start putting together plans for a multiple day trip down to either Georgia or Florida. Any specific information on past trips down to either for bass fishing are greatly appreciated. As far as what I'm looking to do; I want to take my oversized john boat down there with a trolling motor and just hunt for big largemouth bass. I am not looking to do any salt/brackish water fishing, and I wouldn't mind getting a better understand of the alligator situation down there either. Our poor hokies had some heart breakers this season, hopefully we can put together a strong bowl game against Louisville. "Tight Lines" -Kaz
  4. March 4-12, so pretty early. I figured I would have to head a little south to hit water temps a lit closer to the 50s. Thanks for the welcome, I've been a silent stalker of these forums for a few weeks now. There are some really experienced people here.
  5. I'm a Mechanical Engineering Junior at Virginia Tech and our spring break is coming up in March. I'm looking for ideas for a multiple day trip for Bass fishing and wanted to hear what kind of ideas are out there. Are there places to rent a cabin on a good lake? What states on the East Coast would have some prime bass fishing in March. Any and all ideas are welcome. The smallmouth bite was great again on the New River this year. Nothing like walking out of Thermodynamics at 11:00am and being on the water by noon.
