  1. I fish the Santee everyyear in April and that is a big spawningmonth. Down in SC, you are probably in a pre-spawn stage now.
  2. To catch fish, you have to fish where the fish are. Since then I will lose any number of lures throwing to the thickest and nastiest stuff.
  3. I am an English teacher and my students must do a 5 minute demonstrative speech everyyear. I model the project to my students by performing a demonstartiver speech mysel before they do. My topic every year, pitching. It is my favorite day of the year because I get to combine my two passions, teaching and fishing. First I give a very brief history of pitching, then the equipment needed, and the motions of how to do it. I pitch a jig into a measuring cup and my students go nuts when I get it in from like 20 feet out. If you can pitch, might be worth a try. For visual aides, I bring in a DVD on pitching as well as pictures from magazines of pro doing it. Good Luck P.S. I also used to do public relations and I gave a lot of speeches, so if you have any questions about how to give the speech or need some tips just PM me.
  4. Make college your career first. Most pros these days have degrees in something.
  5. Being just like Mike in regards to being from NJ, I can tell you this, not well liked here!
  6. I would say close to 300. Pretty decent year for me considering i have only been fishing 3 years. This was my best lunker year by far. I had many over 4lbs, my biggest smallie which was over 5lbs., and had a 10lbs. when fishing the santee for 2 days.
  7. I appreciate your imput however, I must be honest, I am not handy and am unfamiliar with a lot of the terminology. I am a pretty smart guy so I figure I can do this on my own.
  8. I learned to pitch by standin 30 ft. from a small fence post in my fathers yard. I would play horse. When I could pitch and hit the bottom of the post, I would move on. If I missed, I went back.
  9. I am nuying a small boat in the next month or so, a small 16 ft. v-hull. It is a modest boat with a foot controlled TM. There are no seat that run from one side to side, just pedestal seats. I want to build a small deck in the fron to make pitching easier. Any ideas on how?
  10. I fish in a great club in NJ called North Jersey Bass Anglers. Great fishermen who are as nice as could be and very skilled. you can email me at cwenbass@yahoo.com if interested.
