  1. I've been using the Yamamoto Kreatures for a couple of years now. I fish very heavy pressured city lakes and they work great for me!I normally throw them Texas rigged using an Owner 4/0 twistlock and an 1/8 or 3/16 tungsten weight depending on what the bass want. My best colors are black with blue and green pumpkin. -brian
  2. Good going!
  3. Just watched the current Jarrett Edwards Outdoors and he showed a little trick on line twist. He basically pulled out some line and showed how the line gets line twist when a fish is pulling drag (the drag causes the line to get hot). Then said by allowing your reel to back reel instead of using your drag will help eliminate the problem. Of course u need to fill your spool the right way. Haven't tried it, but u might check it out. Brian
  4. Very well done Goose, thanks! -b
  5. If you are targeting largemouth bass and use Robo Worms or other finesse worms, I would go with Size 2 . I've used them in the past and they really do work, but I don't like having to tie on another line for the lower section or for the weight. -b
  6. It sounds like u were on an epic fishing trip back then and now the pond is back to normal or close to it. -b
  7. I love using 5" Senkos and Fat Ika's during the spawn, but I've also had great luck with a dropshot too, especially when u r able to sight fish. -b
  8. I've been using the Powell Diesel spinning rod with a Shimano 2500 & 6 lb flouro for dropshot and I really like it. It's lighter than I expected and it has good sensitivity. I'm definitely going to check out some of Powell's other rods in the future. brian
  9. How bout trying to drive north of San Francisco to Clear Lake? The lake is known for some big ones! -b
  10. I've been able to use an extra 10% discount code in addition to a sale price at TW. You can always add the product to the shopping cart and check the code discount. Like the others said, give TW a call! -b
  11. I don't try to get my spouse into fishing. I have taken her to our local city lake before when I bring our little ones fishing, and we've gone to some big lakes together. I think when our youngest (5 month old) gets older, we will definitely do some family fishing trips. -b
  12. Congrats JT on your 10 years at Yamamoto! I fish a few hi-pressured city lakes in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. Fat Ika's, 5" Senkos, Flappin Hogs, and Kreatures have been my go to's! As the others said, it would be awesome if Yamamoto Baits became a site sponsor! -brian
  13. I'm a propmaker (set carpenter) in the IATSE Local 44 Hollywood, CA and I build sets for the movie and tv industry. Have worked on movies like Transformers, Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman and tv shows like CSI Miami, CSI NY, and The Voice too name a few. -brian
  14. I've been using the Powell Diesel spinning rod since mid summer 12 and really like it. I've been using it for drop shots, flick shake, and texas rigged plastics. -b
  15. El Dorado is a very tough lake, You just gotta try it frequently to know what's working. I haven't been there in the last month, but you can generally get bit on the drop shot or reaction baits. -b
  16. Yes I do fish for 2 to 4 hours without a bite. I fish the hi pressured city lakes of Los Angeles so there are times the fishing is brutal and some times that are great. -b
  17. -bandaids -hand wipes -pepper spray -
  18. Too bad u can't fish in pairs and draw names out of a hat to get ur partners. That way u could do it on the honor system like lots of the club events. I'm a shore bass fisherman and don't think keeping the bass til weigh in is a good idea. -b
  19. Very nice report. I recently picked up some of them on sale at TW, but really haven't tried them much, yet. Although I've pretty much only used Yamamoto Senko's, I think these will be a great alternative to them. b
  20. Thanks for the detailed reply and pics..I've been wanting to do a jig setup just like your set up. Thanks. -b
  21. I picked up a Diesel 6'10" medium spinning rod last week and really like it. Only used it one time so far, but it seems like its going to work well for me. -bman
  22. I placed an order at TW on Tues last week about noon time and my new rod and box of baits arrived at 8:40AM the next morning. I've now ordered from TW a few times and every order was spot on and arrived next day as they promised. I tried Cabella's twice and their orders took about 2 weeks to arrive which is unacceptable to me. I have a BPS about an hour away and they are always out of what I want and their in store pricing is usually different from their online prices which I don't like.
  23. From Hooked up tackle's site, Abu Garcia - Gen 3 Revo STX Abu Garcia's new Generation 3 Revo STX is 30% lighter than the previous model, making it the lightest reel in it's class. The new Gen 3 Revo STX has been completely re-designed, and is made of a carbon frame, features new EVA knobs, a Carbon Matrix drag system, 10 stainless steel HPCR bearings plus 1 roller bearing, an infiniti brake system and 20lbs of drag. There is also a new 8.0:1 gear ratio model. The new Gen 3 Revo's are expected to ship September 1, 2012.
  24. Not spelled wrong if he's a Yamamoto guy. -b
