  1. I'm looking for a new leader material. I have always used whatever flouro I have but I want to try something specifically made for leaders. Has anyone used the Shensei leader material, what do you think? Any other suggestions for a leader material my most preferred traits are abrasion resistance and knot strength.
  2. X2 I now have 3 NRX's. All of them came from the hook up and look like brand new rods with stickers on and the cork is clean. They also come with the loomis rod sock. I have not sent out for the wild card yet, but they are eligable, and fully warrantied. Also all have very clean builds. Straight guides clean wraps and no excess epoxy. I don't think I'll ever buy an NRX that isn't a rep sample.(not just becuase I can't afford them at full priceLOL)
  3. I would say black neon or green pumpkin. That way you will have both a light and dark belly to compliment each other.
  4. I know aaron martens uses a fully parabolic rod because it helps protect the very light line he uses. Some times he uses line as light as 2#. That said the tip he uses is still very limber and I think it would be tough to get the proper characteristics out of a crankbaits rod, and if you use glass your giving up a lot of sensitivity.
  5. I don't own any st croix and don't really plan to, but I have never heard anything but the best when it comes to customer service. If you like the rod do t worry because they definitely have the reputation of a great company.
  6. Rage Shellcracker Megabass pop max Deep crank Square bill cranks I'm most excited about the pop max. Watched some videos on it and even though the price is a little rediculous I think it might be worth it. Can't wait to get my firs fish on one.
  7. My number one confidence bait is a zoom fluke in glimmer blue color. I use it in the top of the water column 99.9% of the time. If I want to get deep my go to bait is a 1/2oz football head custom tied on a revenge jig head.
  8. That's actually pretty d**n funny.
  9. The only complete combo I got is a DX745 paired with gen3 revo premier. The rest will be mixed with already existing pieces. I got a DX 744 to pair with my revo MGX Daiwa steez 103ha to pair with my NRX 893 Shimano core 50 to pair with my cumulus 7'1 mh/xf DX743 will be paired with my gen 1 revo premier eventually will be replaced with an MGX
  10. BS? Just because you had a bad expierience that could very easily be blamed on the shipping company. What reason does he have to lie? How about I call BS on you because my experience has been the same as hooties. I have ordered close to a dozen rods from TW, every one with bubble wrap and tied in place. Every rod 100% what I expect. If your experience was different than mine it must be BS there is no other explanation right.
  11. Summers around here may not be crazy hot, but it does get into the 90's and occasionally hit 100 or so. I leave my bag in the car all season and never had anything melt. I keep them all in original bags aside from rage draws which I keep in my jig box. The bags of plastics are also in a Plano organizer bag. Usually keep them on the floor of my car sometimes on the back seat.
  12. The first time you cast it you will no longer regret the money, especially at that price. The first time you catch a fish on it you'll start saving for the next one.
  13. Thanks, maybe ill try again.
  14. I wanted to buy a pair of spool pin pliers but couldn't find where to enter the code. Looked everywhere and gave up. Where was it?
  15. Quality bearings is obviously more important but I can absolutely notice the difference in retrieve between a reel with bearings in the handle and not.
  16. "Chase down the crazy little meth head fish" maybe the funniest thing Ive read here. Litterally sitting here alone laughing my @$$ off. Great mental image
  17. There is another rod coming. I remember in another thread somebody looked up the pending trademarks around the time the first pictures of the mgxtreme came out. No info on it other than it also starts with a V but can't remember the name.
  18. Just do it, get the reel all the cool kids are doing it.
  19. Just about any ceramic guide will be fine with braid. It's funny that your friend said you need metal guides because even the hardest metal guides are far more prone to grooving than any ceramic. Myself along with most people haven't experienced problems with guides such as recoils but there is plenty of proof that it can happen and it's almost always a metal guide.
  20. If it is one of the 10% pro discount promo codes then it should. My friend just bought one of the old steez reels and was able to use the promo code even though it was already on sale.
  21. As said before performance wise and color fastness you won't gain anything over other braids. However it is by far the smoothest and quietest braid I've used or seen including sufix 832. For me this is enough to warrant the price. I will continue to use it until I find something smoother.
  22. This really is just crazy cheap. I wanted to overnight a reel to pure fishing once and it would have cost me over $50 to do so with ups. I'm sure they must have some kind of contract with them but I still don't know how they do it.
  23. Not that I'm really adding any new info but, yes they are great. Never had a problem with any of the many rods and reels Ive ordered. Even when it comes to baits I feel like it would be easy to screw up a color every now and the but they never have.
