  1. I'm able to cast much further with a lot less effort since I put the 103 ha spool in. I like the sv spools a lot but the ss sv spool is definitely to strong of brakes. Some people have trouble controlling the 103 ha but I don't think it's bad. The sv is a lot more controlled though.
  2. I had a spool from a 103 HA sitting around. Threw it in the SS SV and it really opened it up. Like it a lot.
  3. I'm new to the BFS game but have been using 6# trilene xl. I thought about using braid but even with the thin diameter it's not truly light line and to me that's most of the fun with BFS. Got my first few BFS fish this past weekend and it was awesome. Couple of 3# smallies had the rod bent in half and the Aldebaran BFS has a drag clicker which also added to the fun. Can definitely see an addiction coming.
  4. I just started using cal's grease and it seems good. Works for all parts and seems to stick to gears better than some others out there. For oil I use the blue oil that comes with the daiwa reels for heavier presentations and I use hedgehog ultra light alchemy oil for light bait presentations. The alchemy oil is very nice super low viscosity.
  5. Just got geared up to start throwing swimbaits this year. Very excited.
  6. I actually like it a lot. Ordered it because the regular wasn't in stock, now I think I like the phantom more than the regular.
  7. Any time you buy a Steez, you definitely did alright.
  8. Want to get into swimbaits this year. Put in an order for some baits. Now waiting on a combo that can handle big baits.
  9. I see this come up all the time. An op who hates fluorocarbon and a bunch of other posters chime in saying it's impossible to manage. Honestly I just don't get it. I love flouro. I have no problems with manageability, even with some of the tougher lines like shooter. Obviously use what you want but if flouro seems like something you want to use, stick with it. Eventually you'll figure it out. To me it doesn't handle much different than mono.
  10. That conquest is awesome. Really wanted one but righties were a long way away at the time I purchased by BFS reels. Had to double up on the Aldebaran's instead. Not exactly a problem but would have been nice to have the conquest. What happed pen to the Steez? Looks like it took a beating. Man it hurts seeing that.
  11. Thought it was time to get in to the BFS game. Got these in January I believe. Don't really know why I haven't posted them. Megabass X7 Criffhanger and Megabass Kirisame both paired with Aldebaran BFS. The Kirisame is really cool. The blank is a solid piece of graphite, very unique.
  12. Haha thanks man. Just for the kind words I'll post something else.
  13. Finished the newest combo. J-Dream and Dream catch.
  14. Gliss may be the single worst line I've ever tried. Bought so called 40#, was easily able to break it with my hands. I was also able to make it fray and break rubbing it on the corner of a desk, even though the desk was smooth it chewed right through it. Usually if I buy a product I don't like I just write it off as a loss. This stuff was so bad I couldn't let them get away with stealing my money. I went back and returned it before I ever even put it on a reel.
  15. One thing I learned shipping usps is the balloon payment. When shipping a rod tube it will actually cost $9 more if it weighs below 5 pounds. I found it hard to believe but for some reason shipping less weight costs more, at least up to a certain poundage. I have paid as little as $11 and as much as $30 because of that stupid balloon payment.
  16. Me too. I like the TN with the cool paint job and the "bass or die"knobs, but I love the sort of low key awesomeness of the 105xs.
  17. This is one of my most anticipated pieces I have gotten. USDM Megabass Destroyer Valdivia. It's nice to see Megabass bring a higher line of rods to the US. Sold an NRX to get it and my first impression is I won't regret it. The reel is not new but It's paired with a Steez Sv Ltd.
  18. I have my alphas sv(same reel). Paired with a Megabass x4 Super Mirage and it could definitely handle both t-rigs and jerkbaits very well. Has been discontinued, might be hard to find but they're out there.
  19. Thanks imbfisherman. I've always loved the tackle side of the hobby. Just got a little something sent out today. Should be here Friday. Very excited about this one coming.
  20. Another new reel. Don't have a rod to pair it with but I'm thinking x4 black python. Will post some pics when the combo is complete.
  21. Wanted to add this to the other post but file size was too big. Got the new combo out for a test drive and snapped a pic. Here is the Bandersnatch paired with an SS SV.
  22. My newest acquisition. 2016 Megabass Destroyer Bandersnatch. First impression is it's a beautiful rod. Will use it for spinnerbaits primarily.
  23. If gotten some pretty nice gifts from them. Most recently I ordered an Aldebaran BFS and they gave me a Megabass Pinkee micro plug. Going to be a fun bait to throw on the BFS. What was the spinnerbait they sent you? They gave me a daiwa spinnerbait once. It was a nice bait. I ordered some O.S.P High Pitcher spinnerbaits from JLS which were very nice.
  24. All 3 reels are USDM. The chronarch 50e and curado 50e are nearly identical. The core 50e is the same exact size and shape as the other 2 but the frame is magnesium as opposed to aluminum. The scorpion 1000xt is the JDM counterpart for the curator/chronarch and the Aldebaran mg7 is the JDM counterpart for the core. All of them are very nice reels and would be a good option.
  25. I own an expride and it's a very nice rod. I do not own a GLX but I would feel confident saying the GLX is on a different level than the expride.
